Video game manipulation
- I'm not sure if I put this here or not, here it goes, can i get some input on this idea I have for an ability? Here's the link to the ability. --Horrorman 15:09, 1 January 2008 Happy New Year!
- The ability looks good. Since you can pull things from the digital world into the physical world, you might talk about whether or not the ability has the capability of putting things from the physical world into the digital world. As a reader, I'd also be curious about whether or not you can pull living things (including mystical creatures) into the real world. 18:56, 1 January 2008 (EST)
revelence
- You know, after I looked at the word I knew it didn't look right... but I dismissed the feeling. Thanks for catching it. :) (Admin 23:59, 3 January 2008 (EST))
- Don't thank me, thank my spell checker. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:02, 4 January 2008 (EST)
EDT vs. EST
I added a help about the changeover to Help:Signatures to avoid future confusion.--MiamiVolts (talk) 16:53, 4 January 2008 (EST)
- Good idea. I was actually quite impressed last April with the automatic Daylight Savings change. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:49, 4 January 2008 (EST)
Delete request
- Is there some reason the afd for User:MiamiVolts/AbilitiesPortalNav hasn't been done? Not urgent, just curious cause it's been in the queue for several days.--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:59, 7 January 2008 (EST)

- Thanks.--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:11, 7 January 2008 (EST)
- Sorry, I don't check Category:Articles for Deletion all that often. I mostly catch things by checking Recent Changes. If I happen to miss something that way, somebody else catches it. Thanks, Admin! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:27, 7 January 2008 (EST)

Interview
- Just wanted to let you know that your interview isn't only popular in English speaking countries. :) (Admin 14:59, 11 January 2008 (EST))
- Heh. I'm just impressed that somebody took the time to translate that into Portuguese! After transcribing that interview, and having transcribed numerous long documents into (and out of) Albanian, I feel for whoever it was who had to translate that beast! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:39, 11 January 2008 (EST)
- Some of our readers are lazy. So we've decided to post the interview in 3 parts. Tomorrow we will be publishing the 2nd part and on Sunday the 3rd one. By the way, it was an excellent interview. Soon we will be sending our questions to Armus and Foster.--AnaGitelman 15:54, 11 January 2008 (EST)
- Ah, I'm lazy too. I've still got an interview (with Nate Goodman) to transcribe. Thanks for the comments!

9thwonders
- Hey, I didn't see an announcement of your interview with Adam and Kay on 9thwonders.com, so I added a topic here to make sure anyone interested could submit questions. Just FYI to prevent multiple posts. (Admin 15:50, 11 January 2008 (EST))
- Thanks. I'm juggling a lot right now, and the 9th Wonders link kinda slipped my mind. Thanks for getting my back, Admin! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:56, 11 January 2008 (EST)

interviews
- Reading the interview with Nate I realize what a good idea it is to interview the crew so much. They have so much fascinating information that we rarely hear about because everyone else is interviewing the cast all the time. Nate's discussion about what he does for the show is fascinating. (Admin 23:39, 11 January 2008 (EST))
- ...Just wait. He goes into a lot more detail... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 08:41, 12 January 2008 (EST)
Templates
- Can you help me create a character box and templates for the chapters of the graphic novel? That would help a lot. Thanks in advance. Citizen 00:21, 14 January 2008 (EST)
- Sure. What variables do you want. For instance, the character box we have here has variables like name, image, portrayer, gender, age, occupation, children, etc. Are there variables in particular that you want or don't want? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:32, 14 January 2008 (EST)
- Name, image, vigilante name (or alias), gender, age, born, died, occupation, children, siblings, parents, significant others, date of birth, other relatives would be ok :) Citizen 00:42, 14 January 2008 (EST)
- I like it! Thanks for using your time to make this. Is there any way you can make it be on the right rather than the left? Citizen 01:31, 14 January 2008 (EST)
- You'll have to ask Admin. I believe he has to activate the infobox class so it will float right instead of left. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:35, 14 January 2008 (EST)
- Actually, here we're controlling it in MediaWiki:Common.css. (Admin 01:46, 14 January 2008 (EST))
- See, I have no idea how to work MediaWiki:Common.css. I'm at a loss there. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:53, 14 January 2008 (EST)
- Ok, I'll ask him. Also, if you're not busy, can you teach me how to make a template for the chapters of the GN? I want it to look like a season template.Citizen 01:47, 14 January 2008 (EST)
- I'm not sure what you mean by a season template. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:53, 14 January 2008 (EST)
- Something like this but with the twelve Watchmen chapters. Citizen 02:12, 14 January 2008 (EST)
- Okay, I added the chapters navbar to each of the 12 pages. I made the colors sort of red to match the red in the site's logo, but feel free to change the colors if you'd like. (The character box is yellow for the same reason.) If you'd like help changing colors or adding other templates, please let me know. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 02:33, 14 January 2008 (EST)
- The colors are fine. Thank you for helping with the wiki, it looks a bit better now. I owe you one ;) But seriously, I gotta learn how to make the myself so I can get started on one for the characters.--Citizen 02:41, 14 January 2008 (EST)
- Why don't you take the chapters navbar that I made, copy the text/code from the page, and paste it into a new template page, called something like Template:Characters. Then, just change the things that need to be changed--for instance, the title at the top of the bar should say "Characters" instead of "Chapters". The edit link should be /index.php?title=Template:Characters&action=edit instead of /index.php?title=Template:Chapters&action=edit. Then remove all twelve chapters, and add the characters instead. Finally, fix the Usage section so every time it says "chapters" you make it say "characters". Let me know if you get stuck. I'm going to bed now, but I'll be back tomorrow. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 03:01, 14 January 2008 (EST)

CBR

- Very cool. I email Hannibal and others on the CBR staff quite often, and I'm always curious to see which ones they post and which they don't. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:45, 14 January 2008 (EST)
- By the way, Chuck's interview just passed the 3,000 hit mark, making it the second-most viewed interview after Jason La Padura's interview. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:47, 14 January 2008 (EST)

Credits
Thanks for helping. I'm just wondering, did you just correct the bad links or did you check them with the on screen credits? -Lөvөl 17:18, 14 January 2008 (EST)
- I didn't check anything against the onscreen credits. I just took the names as we have them and fixed accordingly. (Does that sentence even make sense?) Basically, I just fixed bad links, like I changed "Paydin Lopachin" to Paydin LoPachin. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:34, 14 January 2008 (EST)
Burning Question for an interview.
School's gonna start up pretty quick for. If I miss the question submission window for a future interview with someone who could answer the following question, would you please ask it for me? The Question: Will Caitlin, left in 2008 ever be revisited? thanks!--SacValleyDweller (talk) 18:23, 19 January 2008 (EST)
- That's one of my Big Questions, too. I tried to ask Kay Foster and Adam Armus, but our interview was a bit rushed and hectic, so I didn't get to ask everything I wanted. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:52, 19 January 2008 (EST)
I want a "talk to me" button
I want my userpage and talk page to have a button similar to the one you got that says "Leave a message," only I want it to look something like this:
talk to me! |
. Would you make me one please? thanks! --SacValleyDweller (talk) 01:57, 20 January 2008 (EST) EDIT: the link in the button needs to be bold --SacValleyDweller (talk) 01:58, 20 January 2008 (EST)

If you want the text blue, like you have above, it would look like this:
code:
<div class="plainlinks" style="background-color:#FF8640;border: 1px solid #778FE1;padding: 2px; -moz-border-radius:10px;;text-align:center;padding:2px 5px;width:125px">[{{fullurl:{{FULLPAGENAMEE}}|action=edit§ion=new}} <font color=#003fbf>'''Talk to me!'''</font>]</div>
Let me know if you need anything else. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:05, 20 January 2008 (EST)
- Thanks, Ryan! I took the first one and tweaked it to perfecto:

Evolutions Reporters
Which do you prefer? -- Lulu (talk) 22:19, 25 January 2008 (EST)
- Personally, I prefer less about Drucker and more about the reporters. There should be enough to link to key words--for instance, Layla Jesrani's bio should have a more fleshed-out version of "she reviews Drucker's early life, including his stay at a Seville monastery, his move to Buenos Aires, and his involvement in politics. Jesrani reports Drucker's education at the University of Virginia, and his association with Charles Deveaux. Later, she interviews Zhang Yang." ... Something like that allows for some good links, but it sort of keeps the focus a bit more on the reporter than on her report. That's just my opinion, though. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:38, 25 January 2008 (EST)
Interview notifications
- Did you send out notifications to your usual outlets concerning the Nate Goodman interview? You seem to get better results when you email them and the sites you contact are very good about posting the news. (Admin 03:24, 27 January 2008 (EST))
- I should be finishing up Interview:Adam Armus and Kay Foster pretty soon, so I figured I would send out one last notification with both interviews, rather than inundate with two separate posts. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:58, 27 January 2008 (EST)
Heroes Ability Facebook Application
Hey, I thought you might want to check this out. --PeterDawson 20:26, 29 January 2008 (EST)
- Thanks, PD, that's great stuff! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:32, 29 January 2008 (EST)
- I've actually had that application added to my Facebook for a while, though admittedly I'm not too "powerful" yet because I don't like spamming my Facebook friends with those notifications. :) (Admin 21:15, 29 January 2008 (EST))
- It looks pretty cool...but to be honest, the only reason I even have a Facebook account is so I can check on the Facebook accounts of crew members. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:20, 29 January 2008 (EST)
reliability
- Concerning your comment about being "sworn to secrecy" on the death of Hana and Drucker, I think with all the correspondence you have with the people in the know and your lack of vested interest in presenting spoilers ahead of time that you've earned at least more reliability than Kristin Dos Santos when it comes to revealing pieces of information. :) (Admin 21:31, 29 January 2008 (EST))
- However, how big of a compliment is that, really :p -- Lulu (talk) 21:32, 29 January 2008 (EST)
- Kristin? Yikes! ... Actually, I don't know any spoilers, I was just told by "someone" that I should probably note the difference between the two phrases. That's it. Hmm... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:33, 29 January 2008 (EST)
- Haha. Well, there's a huge gap between say Kristin and a writer, so it's complimentary to be someone not officially affiliated with the show who is able to fit in that gap. :) I didn't mean that anything you've supplied is a spoiler, just that you have no vested interest in being the first one to present any given piece of information (compared to a columnist for instance) so you don't have any conflict of interests. (Admin 21:38, 29 January 2008 (EST))
- Right, gotcha...I will say, after having been in varying degrees of contact with a number of creative minds behind Heroes, it really has been a lot of fun to hear what they have to say and to catch glimpses at the making of the show. What a trip! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:40, 29 January 2008 (EST)

Bob in Normal Lives
Bob actually does appear in Normal Lives (proof). --SacValleyDweller (talk) 18:14, 31 January 2008 (EST)
- Right, but the point is we didn't count his appearance until he actually appeared. Just being on the phone is not an appearance. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:28, 31 January 2008 (EST)
- Technically, Noah and the Haitian's appearances shouldn't count in Fight or Flight then - they were only on screen for Mohinder's phone call. --DocM 18:45, 31 January 2008 (EST)
- It's not the fact that somebody is making a phone call that discredits an appearance, it's the fact that somebody doesn't appear that discredits an appearance. If the phone call in Fight or Flight were one-sided, or if Noah and the Haitian never appeared, then we wouldn't count an appearance. For instance, in Fallout, Mr. Bennet makes a phone call to one of his superiors (most likely Thompson)--when we had an article about the superior, we never said he made an appearance, just a mention. In the case of Noah and the Haitian in Fight or Flight, they actually appeared on screen, so they are listed in the appearances page. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:53, 31 January 2008 (EST)
- Bob does show up "on screen," if you will (albeit for one picture), in Normal Lives. Does he officially appear in it or no? im confused. --SacValleyDweller (talk) 22:43, 31 January 2008 (EST)
- Bob is listed on the appearance page, if that answers you question. -- Lulu (talk) 23:07, 31 January 2008 (EST)
- Bob appears in the novel, I never said he didn't. I'm not sure what the issue is--he's making a phone call, but he still shows up. The conversation here is about whether or not Hana's disembodied message counts as an appearance. I gave examples of phone calls that are not appearances. Bob's phone call doesn't count as an appearance until he actually appears. Basic rule of thumb: if someone appears, it's an appearance. If they don't physically appear, it's not an appearance. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:24, 31 January 2008 (EST)
- Bob is listed on the appearance page, if that answers you question. -- Lulu (talk) 23:07, 31 January 2008 (EST)
