Spoiler:Heroes

Have you checked out my recent edits lately? :) -- Tristan0709 talk 02:06, 1 April 2009 (EDT)

  • Cute. And I hate to be a spoilsport, but we really should remove false spoilers, even if they're a joke. It detracts from the real information...and not everybody in other countries even understands what April Fools Day is. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 07:49, 1 April 2009 (EDT)
    • Fair enough. Just so you know, my apology at User talk:Admin is directed at you and other administrators/patrollers as well. -- Tristan0709 talk 22:49, 1 April 2009 (EDT)
      • Thanks, Tristan. And please don't think that I'm taking anything personally or that I'm holding anything against you. I like to have fun as much as the next guy, absolutely. And I know your edits were in good fun--they weren't purposeful vandalism, and your excellent attitude following the corrections proves that you are didn't mean any harm. If we come down a little hard on April Fools edits, just realize that we're doing it less to make you feel badly, and more to discourage others to not get silly ideas. We have to remember that our site is global, and that there are some who either don't "get" April Fools, or who believe what's written because they are too young and can't discern truth from humor. So no hard feelings on either side. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:09, 1 April 2009 (EDT)
        • Of course, I completely understand. Thanks! -- Tristan0709 talk 23:16, 1 April 2009 (EDT)

Time manipulation or Time freezing?

  • Hey Ryan, I'm in North Korea right now on my way to the Philippines hehehehe

By the way, I was checking my e-mail and I just got an mail from Heroes Spoiler about an interview to Joe Pokaski and Aron Coliete saying that "Hiro can freeze time. That's it.". So shouldn't the Time manipulation page be undeleted now?. And they said he can only freeze time, which he can't reverse or slow down time, then should we still name it Time manipulation or Time freezing?--NiveKJ13 (talk2me) 06:05, 1 April 2009 (EDT)

  • I think that's exactly what we're saying. His power was partially restored. He can only freeze time. Baby Matt didn't give him a new power, he restored part of an old power. Even if Baby Matt restored the part of Hiro's old power that allows him to teleport, he wouldn't have the power of teleportation--that's a separate power. That's Rachel's power. Hiro doesn't have a new power, just one part of his old one. It'd be a very different power that Baby Matt had if he could suddenly grant new powers! :) By the way, discussion about time manipulation should probably go on Talk:Time manipulation so everybody can easily find it. :) Enjoy your vacation. Say hi to Kim Jong-il for me! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) APRIL FOOLS!

forget it

Why don't you stop deleting my stuff and put it in the proper place for me..thanks a lot.. --Bucklen62189 15:09, 1 April 2009

  • I don't know what edits you're referring to specifically. I'm not targeting you as an editor, and I don't distinguish "your" stuff from the stuff of others. Once it's on the wiki, it's up for editing by anybody. I don't always have time while editing to fix every page so it's perfect. I've found that in the past if I try to edit every page to perfection, I get very little done. If I leave it until I have time, I forget about it. That's what templates like the stub flag are for--so we can mark the articles as incomplete and come back to them later on. If you would like to move something that's in the wrong place into the proper place, feel free. If you're not sure where it goes, I always have time to explain to other users where something is supposed to go or how to edit. Let me know if you need a hand. Thanks! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:16, 1 April 2009 (EDT)

Wrong

This week, here's what happened ( ODI knows ): I opened edit box while I was uploading video on Youtube, around the same time as ODI was editing on Wiki. This stuff usually happens when episode ends because we are waiting to post new stuff like trailer in this case ....

I erased his link accidently. And I noticed it later. I didn't changed it to previous because when I checked ODI's blog post, he didn't had the video anymore because apparently it was deleted by video hosting. He usually stopped uploading videos year ago so I knew he will wait that someone uploads, so I kept my link ( to my post from Wiki ) because I already uploaded it on Youtube and had it on my site. There's no point pointing fans to destination without wanted content.

The same thing was done previous week, around the same time ( when episode finished ) just that time ODI changed my link. You can check it in history. He and I know this, was discussing on Twitter!

If you have more questions please email me on spoilersguide@gmail.com because I'm going to be out of the country starting tomorrow. --Matej 20:40, 1 April 2009

  • Thanks for explaining that Matej. I don't frequent the spoilers pages too often, so I don't know all the ins and outs of who posts, when, and what "politics" might be involved. I just saw that you had changed his link for yours--I suppose it was a simultaneous edit--and went on your page to just bring it to your attention. When I saw that it had happened previously, it raised a red flag for me. Thanks for explaining. My suggestion would be that when you're posting such items, you check to see whether or not you've accidentally erased somebody else's link. Then, if you decide that the link you have should be the one to stay, you might want to message that other person. In other words, if you accidentally erase ODI's link for your own, you might want to leave him a message on his talk page so that the issue is addressed. Otherwise, it looks like you're jealously trying to change his links for yours. Thanks for understanding! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:42, 1 April 2009 (EDT)

Sortnames for numbered characters

Hey Ryan. It's April, so archiving time, yeah? =) Anyways, I noticed that you changed the sortnames of DHS agents 1, 2, 3, and 4 and added the parenthetical numbers to them. However, I was under the impression that parenthetical numbers don't get included in sortnames. For examples, on Portal:Minor3, there are 3 emergency room doctors, none of which have parenthetical numbers in their sortnames. And on Portal:Minor6, the same is true with Mohinder's muggers. Has the policy been changed that we should include them, for purposes of, for example, not having a (III) agent sorted before a (I) agent, I assume? If that's the case I'll start fixing up the sortnames of the millions of characters with parenthetical numbers we have. Thanks. --Radicell 09:54, 3 April 2009 (EDT)

  • I noticed an issue with the Homeland Security agents. When the four agents were "straddling" two portals, DPL had a hard time distinguishing between them. Specifically, Homeland Security agent (I) and Homeland Security agent (II) should have been in Portal:Minor4 (at the time), and Homeland Security agent (III) and Homeland Security agent (IV) should have been in Portal:Minor5. However, HS agents 1 and 2 were in Portal:Minor4 and Portal:Minor5, and HS agents 3 and 4 were nowhere. (Does that make sense?) Ultimately, since they all had the exact same sortname, the the templates were not ordering them correctly when the four characters were split among two portals.

I'm not sure if it's a permanent problems, or if it was something specific to just those four characters, but adding a sortname fixed the issue. Yeah, we should probably add the numbers for all those other parenthetically names characters. It won't be an issue until the characters "straddle" two portals, but we're probably better off fixing the sortnames now than later. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:28, 3 April 2009 (EDT)

    • Oh, so that's the only time when they cause a problem. It'd be nice if there was a sortname variable and a sortnametext variable, much like the link and linktext pair. Anyways, since there seems to be no workaround at this time, I'll start fixing the sortnames soon. On another note, did Julio Leal reply that email you sent him? --Radicell 03:26, 4 April 2009 (EDT)
      • Re: Julio Leal. No. I'd say let's just go ahead and keep all the characters as one. It makes things much easier... I'll try emailing him again, though. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:28, 4 April 2009 (EDT)
        • So I actually just opened my email to write back to Julio. Lo and behold, there's an email from him! Funny how things work out like that. Anyway, the image we had wasn't of him, but of another actor (I'll see what else I can find out about him, but I know the other actor's name is Chase). He didn't mind having all the characters combined into one--or rather he didn't say anything about it, so I take that as non-objection. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:22, 4 April 2009 (EDT)

Heidi Petrelli

Right.. Is she divorced or separated fron Nathan? Because on Nathan's page saying "Ex-Wife" but on his info box saying "Separated" Which one is correct? Many thanks! Hopwas2007 05:23, 4 April 2009 (EDT)

  • I don't think we know, do we? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:27, 4 April 2009 (EDT)
    • Lol! Just that I dont want misleading fellow heroeswikiers (if u call it) thinking he is divorced/seperated. You know what I mean? Hopwas2007 15:27, 4 April 2009 (EDT)
      • I agree. Well, we know that they're separated, that's for sure. I don't think we know whether or not they're divorced. We should keep it to what we know. So on the page, I don't think it should say "ex-wife" since we're not really sure if Heidi is still Nathan's wife or not. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:33, 4 April 2009 (EDT)

Hiro's blog

Yeah, sorry about that. I thought that the page had to be fixed since it didn't come up on the screen correctly but I guess it was supposed to be like that. Once again sorry.--TedGordon 17:14, 4 April 2009 (EDT)TedGordon

  • It wasn't coming up correctly? What was wrong with it? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:15, 4 April 2009 (EDT)
    • What i meant was... I can't explain it. When it turned out like this I thought there was something wrong with it --TedGordon 17:21, 4 April 2009 (EDT)TedGordon
      • Is there any way you can take a screenshot of it and upload it so I can see what the problem is? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:24, 4 April 2009 (EDT)
        • It looked like... say for example your writing an article. And before you start the article you space first or indent the paragraph. Once you save it, on your page it looks like your words are in a dotted lined box. Like on hiro's blog when he writes his posts you'll see what Im talking about.--TedGordon 17:31, 4 April 2009 (EDT)TedGordon

Talk 11:48, 9 April 2009 (EDT)

    • The redirects end up using invalid usernames (i.e. Gabriel Bishop is different from GABRIEL BISHOP, so we shouldn't do that. We either need to not use the template on those user pages or modify the template to work properly and not capitalize the name. An invalid redirect is just a crude work around that I'm not really comfortable with. (Admin 11:52, 9 April 2009 (EDT))
      • Ah, that makes sense. I'll work on the template later, probably tonight. Thanks for bringing that up, Admin. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:13, 9 April 2009 (EDT)

    • Yes there is. Check out Template:User infobox#Usage for all the different available variables. Specifically, where you have | background color = #FFEBAB, change the #FFEBAB to either red or gold. Do the same for | blurb color = and | about color = . Here's the change (which I reverted already) so you can see what needs to be done. Let me know if you need more specific help... :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:16, 9 April 2009 (EDT)

Mutations

Hey Ryan, I just wanted to ask your opinion about this page. In your interview with Jim and Timm, they noted the mutations of Mohinder, David, and Elephant man and even joked at David's ability as rabies. I think it's time to separate the mutations from abilities and reclassify Mohinder's ability to Enhanced strength.--Riddler 15:27, 9 April 2009 (EDT)

  • No Mohinder's ability should not be reclassified because when he had the stable formula wash over him he lost all the aspects of it. The writers confirmed that he only has Enhanced strength. -- Obelisk52 20:45, 9 April 2009 (EDT)
    • That's exactly what I'm saying. The writers said he only has Enhanced strength, so his ability should be moved there, and the mutations should be noted elsewhere.--Riddler 15:52, 9 April 2009 (EDT)
      • Also there is a discussion about this on Mohinder ability --IronyUTC CH 16:26, 9 April 2009 (EDT)
        • I agree...to an extent. I think because Mohinder's mutation was somewhat viable and gave him some pretty awesome power aside from his enhanced strength (to crawl up walls, renewed energy, the ability to create sticky substances from his hands, cocooning), that whole phenomenon needs to be documented. Simply because it was useful and Mohinder was able to live for at least four years with it, it is a bit different than the elephant man's mutation and David's mutation. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:20, 9 April 2009 (EDT)

Another question.

Sorry to post so much on your page, haha, but I have another question, I'm not sure if you or Admin would be better to ask. I went to NBC.com and went to the Contact Us link to ask about the Heroes Premiere Event, but I'm afraid that since it's automated that my question won't be answered. Do you know of a more direct way to get my question answered? This is what I sent them:

Hi, whoever may be reading this. Before the Heroes: Countdown to the Premiere, there was a contest on Myspace for "Who is the biggest Heroes fan?" I submitted a bunch of clips, and two were used during the fans segment at the event. I almost passed out when I saw myself on TV. The thing is, I was never contacted about it, and no one I know recorded the show, and I can't find it anywhere online... so it seems to have vanished from existence. Is there any way I can get a copy of the show or at least that segment so I can have it for myself? It would be absolutely amazing. My clips were the Phasing and Pyrokinesis clips. I just want a copy of the episode so I can prove to my friends and family I was on it. And since I was never contacted about my clips being aired, noone I knew thought to watch the Premiere Event, so everyone missed it. Thank you so much.--Riddler 15:55, 9 April 2009 (EDT)
  • Hmm, I'm not exactly sure what to do. I could send an email to Joe Tolerico...however, I'm very confident that the emails that are sent through NBC.com all get read...Regarding your specific request for a clip of you on television, I think I still have the episode on my DVR. My DVD burner isn't working though, so I really don't have any way of getting it off my TV that I know of (short of taking a digital picture of the TV screen, but ... yuck). I would hope that they will include the Countdown to the Premiere on the Season Three DVD. Beyond that, I'm not quite sure what else to suggest. :( -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:28, 9 April 2009 (EDT)
    • I got an auto-response from NBC warning me that not all messages are replied to, so I'm afraid that I won't get a response. If you could email Joe and it wouldn't be too much of a hassle, that would be incredible. :)--Riddler 23:39, 9 April 2009 (EDT)

Competition

Hi ryan can i premote a competition that me,Irony and Laughingdevilboy are doing for Cockney Heroe.I was wondering if you could help tell people on their talk pages about it.Thanks Gabriel Bishop 16:13, 9 April 2009 (EDT)

Oh, the cometition is here here --IronyUTC CH 16:37, 9 April 2009 (EDT)

  • Thanks for the link, Irony. And thanks for letting me know about the competition, Gabriel Bishop. It's a neat idea. I don't really feel comfortable promoting a fan fiction contest that has nothing to do with me on everybody else's talk page. Plus, that would take me a really long time to leave a message on everybody's talk page, and it would really be like spam. Have you tried promoting it at places like 9th Wonders? That might be a good place for you. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:32, 9 April 2009 (EDT)
    • Thanks for the tips, we hope you'll be entering it ;). --IronyUTC CH 06:29, 10 April 2009 (EDT)
      • Hey ryan please do you think you could enter the Competition, I know you have a great imagination and i feel your what this series needs. Reply on my talk page Thanks :) Gabriel Bishop 16:49, 10 April 2009 (EDT)

Speaking of red links.

I was just about to clear out a few when I noticed this - Gabriel Bishop/Telepathy. I haven't been able to find a single link to it other then the link on the current events page and the red links page. I was wondering whether it was added to a template but I can't find it there either. Wondered if you could have a look. Thanks in advance. --Steely McBeam - (talk) 00:44, 10 April 2009 (EDT)

  • Sometimes, after an article is deleted or moved, the red link remains in Current Events because the server hasn't updated its cache yet (categories store things in the server's cache). The red link should disappear from Current Events automatically after a few hours, or you can purge the cache to get rid of it (see Help:Caching).--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:02, 10 April 2009 (EDT)

Rolando Molino

Hey I recently created the cast page for him and was wondering what we do about conflicting names? He is listed as "Rolando Molina" on IMDB then lists alternate names including Rolando Molino. I've gone by the name given in the credits but what is usually done in situations like this?--Steely McBeam - (talk) 08:30, 11 April 2009 (EDT)

  • You generally should use the name used in credits. Other names should generally be put in the AKA section, and redirects can be created if needed. This is a good example of an redirect that should be created, since he's mainly known as Rolando Molina. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:35, 11 April 2009 (EDT)

Patrolling

is there anyway for me to become a patroller? i would really love to as i am nearly always updating and making good edits on pages and i generally add to the wiki if yes please reply Obelisk52 15:56, 11 April 2009

  • You're kind of new to Heroes Wiki. Usually, I like to promote people to be patrollers after they've shown some consistency in strong editing for more than just a couple months. Also, I like to see edits to lots of different pages. Many of your edits are solely on user pages. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that...but your last edit to a main namespace article was in March. My suggestion to you is simply this: stick around for awhile, and start editing the "main" wiki. Keep editing user pages if you'd like, but branch out into the main stuff, too. :) Keep up the good work, Obelisk! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:43, 11 April 2009 (EDT)
    • Hey ryan do you think i could be a patroller ? Gabriel Bishop 17:50, 11 April 2009 (EDT)
      • Gabriel Bishop, you'll need to work more on your grammar and English, first. For instance, in the sentence you wrote above, my first name should be capitalized since it's a proper noun. There should probably be a comma between the second and third words. The word I always gets capitalized. There is shouldn't be a space between the last word and the ending punctuation mark. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:53, 11 April 2009 (EDT)

There also shouldn't be an is between there and shouldn't. (joking around.) Also, I just started to become a Heroes fan and even though I don't know who you are you are AMAZING!!!! Thank you for doing whatever it is you did to bring heroes to the world.--Hawkeye 10:31, 23 April 2009 (EDT)

Talk page question

Hi Ryan, I want to remove the competition for Cockney Heroes from the talk page to a brand new page, I know we are not supposed to remove things from talk pages. Can I remove it if it is not a discussion and clearly explain and link to the new page. Thanks --posted by Laughingdevilboy Talk 12:23, 11 April 2009 (EDT)

  • That'd be fine with me...but wouldn't it be easier to just have the competition listed in the talk page and the new page? The entries can go on the new page, and the talk page can link to it. That way, you're getting as much exposure as you can. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:33, 11 April 2009 (EDT)
    • So ryan do you think you could enter the comp ?. I would be honoured. Also i hope you and your family have a wonderful Easter and that you get to eat lots of Chocolate :) Gabriel Bishop 17:36, 11 April 2009 (EDT)
      • Thanks, Gabriel. Like I said on your talk page, I'm on vacation right now, and won't think about any kind of competition until next week...We'll see if my graduate courses don't get in the way of it next week. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:39, 11 April 2009 (EDT)

New Medical Condition

Hey RGS. I have made a new medical condition page. Aneurysm, the blood clot that Charlie Andrews had in Six months ago. I know it is short, but could you look at it, and approve it to be a real article? It would be much appreciated. Thanks!-- Catalyst · Talk · HL 11:48, 12 April 2009 (EDT)

  • Looks good. A few notes:
    1. An aneurysm is not a disease. It can be caused by disease, but the aneurysm itself should never be referred to as a disease.
    2. "Aneurysm" shouldn't be capitalized unless it's the first word of a sentence.
    3. The caption doesn't match the picture.
    4. The page needs links. Specifically, there should be links to Hiro, Ando, Charlie, brain, Charlie's birthday party, Sylar, and space-time manipulation in the summary of the episode.
    5. The page needs to be linked from Template:Medical conditions and Portal:Medical Conditions.
    6. Has the page been linked to on other pages on the wiki?
    7. The page has some grammatical errors. For instance, "when the time come" should be "when the time comes".
  • Other than that, looks good to me. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:14, 12 April 2009 (EDT)

Category

Hey Ryan. Long time, no me asking you annoying questions (bit of a bad syntax but we'll let that slide). Anyway, Gabriel Bishop, LDB and I were wondering if we were allowed to have a category for cockney heroes. As you can see [1], another fan fic made by PinkKeith has a category. This category only has five pages, ours has considerably more, as you can see here, which is a list of all of our pages. The number of these are rapidly growing and with the competition we have already gor at least another 15 more. It would be a great help, thanks --IronyUTC CH 17:47, 12 April 2009 (EDT)

  • Hi, I also have a question about CH, so thought I would post here, I asked Miami and he wasn't sure, so I thought I would ask you and if you didn't know then Admin. OK here goes is it possible to move all our pages to either Cockney Heroes/ or User:Cockney Heroes/ from Gabriel Bishop's user space, as this would include all of us in Cockney Heroes. Thanks :) --posted by Laughingdevilboy

Talk 14:24, 13 April 2009 (EDT)

    • I didn't know that there was a category page for Mystic Emotion. All fan fiction pages should be put into either Category:User subpages or Category:Fan Fiction. (I'll move Pinkkeith's pages now.) Since the fan fiction category has only three pages in it currently, I don't think it'll get lost in there. However, you might want to think about sorting it under "C" for Cockney Heroes so it all gets sorted together. (Do this by typing [[Category:Fan Fiction|Cockney Heroes]].)

As for moving all the pages into one user namespace, I think it's a good idea since there is more than one person working on the project. However, that's really a question for Admin. My opinion is that it's a good idea, but please don't take that as an endorsement. I'll support whatever Admin's decision is. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:58, 13 April 2009 (EDT)

SeeAlsoImages - introduce to the iStory chapters?

I started a discussion here, Template talk:Seealsoimages, that noone has either noticed or commented on. I think it would be helpful in keeping up with the growing iStory stuff, if we had a see also images cateogry for the iStory chapters like we do for Epis, GNs, and webisodes...having them all lumped within the Evolutions cat makes it very hard to find them when doing research. thoughts? --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 04/13/2009 11:21 (EST)

  • I'll leave my comments at Template talk:Seealsoimages. Thanks for pointing me in that direction. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:08, 13 April 2009 (EDT)
    • OK, just finished making the seealsoimages pages for the three iStory volumes and populating them. Category:IStory Images. I walked through the Evolutions image cat, and pulled all of the ones that I could find, and also went back through the iStory chapter pages looking for any I missed. There are still probably some that have fallen through the cracks. Do you know who is the resident 'expert' of the iStory stuff? Someone we can ask to look through the three image cat pages, who can easily spot one that is out of place or missing? Other than that, they are done, and when the next one comes out, as long as the folks who capture the images put the new img-cat on them, we're good to go moving forward. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 04/14/2009 13:19 (EST)
      • I guess the expert would be me, though Radicell and Citizen have been helping some... anyways, it looks good. Nice work on adding the new cats. I'll check to see if any are missing, thanks.--MiamiVolts (talk) 13:40, 14 April 2009 (EDT)
        • Yeah, I follow them a little, but not like I do the epis, gns, and webis....so I just wanted a fresher and more familiar set of eyes to scan them, and make sure I didn't put a Private pic in a Agent category, etc... --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 04/14/2009 14:59 (EST)
          • "Expert" is an understatement, Miami! You're the iStory god! :) The categories look good, HDS. Much easier to tell. An extra category never hurts, and it's actually very helpful. I was just able to browse the categories very easily and find a duplicate image, which I never would have found by looking through Category:Heroes Evolutions Images. Nice job! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:40, 14 April 2009 (EDT)

New pages

I was thinking that on the victims page there should be a page for Angela's victims as she has quite a few also there should be a page for the victim's of some of the Level 5 escapee's especially Flint Gordon.Jr and Jesse's--Obelisk52 19:01, 13 April 2009

  • I don't have an issue with those. Generally what we do is begin the pages in the user namespace (something like User:Obelisk52/Angela's victims or User:Obelisk52/Flint's victims) and then see what kind of reaction they get. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:13, 13 April 2009 (EDT)
    • Also how do I create a nav-bar at the bottom of my User page for links to pages i have created?--Obelisk52 11:39, 14 April 2009
      • The easiest thing to do is to find a navbar you like, copy the code, and paste it into a new page in your user namespace (something like User:Obelisk52/navbar). Be sure to change any of the code in the new page so it pertains only to your page and not the old one. Lots of people forget to change the edit link. Let me know if you need more assistance with that. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:43, 14 April 2009 (EDT)

New Pages?

How do i create new pages (disambiguation ones, in particular...)? I was thinking there should be disambig pages for "emission" and "manipulation" abilities... --Peter 11:07, 14 April 2009 (EDT)

  • There's already a manipulation disambig page. The easiest way to start a new page is to click on a red link--which you can obtain by linking it somewhere, or by searching for the page. See Help:Editing#Adding New Pages for details (and let me know if you need me to clarify anything). If you create a page that has "(disambig)" in the title, the editing page will have a button that will give you the template needed for the correct disambig page format. Try clkicking on emission (disambig) to see what comes up. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:22, 14 April 2009 (EDT)
    • Thanks so much! I made a Emission (disambig) page but I just have one question/problem: when Manipulation is searched it goes straight to the disambig page but when Emission is searched it just shows the search's hits.. How can it be changed/fixed? --Peter 12:16, 14 April 2009 (EDT)
      • Never mind i figured it out! That help page is really useful (and helpful)! --Peter 12:19, 14 April 2009 (EDT)
        • Good, I'm glad you figured it out and that the help page worked for you. I don't think the help pages are used enough, so I try to point people there. However, I have a pretty good understanding of the wiki, so I don't always need to refer to the pages. Is there anything you think needs to be added to the help pages? Anything that needs to be clarified in any way? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:12, 14 April 2009 (EDT)
          • The only thing I found difficult on the help page was getting to the patrollers page. Maybe there should be a link to it in the administrator's portal. Other than that everythings good. (BTW sorry I took so long to reply. I never noticed you replied :S). --Peter

consensus checks

Just a thought, why donw we try out your new way of conscenus checks on the sand mimicry and bloody acidity pages? I think this could help :) --posted by Laughingdevilboy Talk 05:43, 15 April 2009 (EDT)

  • I'm piloting it at Talk:shockwave emission. People didn't seem to be jumping out of their seats to try the new method, so I didn't want to inundate the wiki with a completely new methodology all at once. But if others think it would help, we can certainly try it. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 08:33, 15 April 2009 (EDT)
    • I noticed straight after I posted lol. It does seem thought on sand mimicry there is not too many new names, same with Blood acidity. Just one question, when the names have been whittled down, will it go to the other method as in if one person says to keep the name and 10 say no have a different one we keep the name, or will it be majority rule? Oh one last question, how will we/you decide what names should be put forward, will it be the two with the least opposition, or just those with no opposition, or names say with 4 or under names for opposition? --posted by Laughingdevilboy

Talk 08:50, 15 April 2009 (EDT)

      • Part of the concept of consensus is that people are in 100% agreement, or at least that 100% of people don't oppose. So anything that has any reasonable opposition at all is "out of the running" so to speak. Check my discussion at talk:shockwave emission--I know it's a bit long, but it really explains the process for how we'll do it. Basically, any name that's been considered will be a valid choice...until somebody opposes it. If all the names are opposed, then it reverts to "Gordon's ability" or "Mary's ability", which nobody can oppose since they are technically correct terms. But if there are a few valid terms that nobody has opposed? Well, it's hard to say exactly what will happen, especially since this is such a new method. There might be one clear "front runner", or there might be an overwhelming amount of support for one name. Or maybe if there are a few valid names that nobody opposes, we can take a vote. There are a few ideas, but it's one of those things that we'll have to see what happens when we get there.

I'll work on the consensus check later tonight when I get home... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:21, 15 April 2009 (EDT)

        • Hi, how are you? I haven't asked anything in a while, but now to change that haha. I hope you don't mind put I have been striking names that have been opposed on the several consensus checks. Just thought I should see if that is OK (I kind of got carried away), I was just thinking it will direct peoples attention towards the new names rather than opposing names we wont use. --posted by Laughingdevilboy

Talk 10:37, 25 April 2009 (EDT)

          • I didn't know who was doing that (when I check talk pages, it's rare that I check individual edits, but rather just look at the page as a whole). I saw the strike outs and thought they were a great idea. If it weren't for archiving purposes, I would remove the name suggestion altogether. Your strikeouts even made me think about creating a template for consensus checks...but I thought that might actually discourage some newer users from contributing, so it's probably best to just leave it old school. Good thinking on the strike outs, though! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:53, 25 April 2009 (EDT)
            • I have another question, I am slightly confused after Future terrorist's ability, I understand why you moved them back as you opposed the name, however you said having a clear favorite doesn't mean a consensus, does that mean even if one name is not opposed we need to have the old consensus to see if the new name is better than the possessors name? --posted by Laughingdevilboy

Talk 07:09, 26 April 2009 (EDT)

            • The name "melting beam emission" has been opposed in the past. A new consensus check doesn't reverse that (unless there are extenuating circumstances, like the character appears again, or we learn more about the ability, neither of which has happened in the past year). I'm not sure I completely understand your question, though--does that answer your question, or do I need to clarify? :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:43, 26 April 2009 (EDT)
              • That kinda answers my question. I will rephrase it, If there is one clear favourite name is that name automatically picked or do we then have a consensus between the new name and the possessors name? --posted by Laughingdevilboy

Talk 14:52, 26 April 2009 (EDT)

                • If the name is opposed (like "melting beam emission" was), it doesn't matter if it's a favorite or not. It's no longer valid. But if there are two names left that are unopposed, then the "clear" favorite would be the choice. If it's somewhat ambiguous, I don't know, we could even do a traditional vote (yes, an actual vote!) since neither name is opposed. But we haven't come to that situation yet...However, if there's only one name that's unopposed, we wouldn't use the possessor's name at all. A descriptive ability ranks higher than a possessor's name according to our naming conventions. A possessor's name is really a last resort, if not enough information is given in a canon source, if there are no secondary sources that help us out, if there's no common name for the ability (we're just about "out" of common abilities), and if we can't come to a consensus on a descriptive name. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:57, 26 April 2009 (EDT)
                  • That has happened, check out here I started an old conscensus but we can easliy change it a vote (YEY) --posted by Laughingdevilboy

Talk 15:00, 26 April 2009 (EDT)

                    • Very cool, I wasn't aware of that. Yes, since there are two valid names, let's change it to a vote. Majority wins. I'll take care of it now. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:02, 26 April 2009 (EDT)
  • I have just moved Sand transmutation to Gordon's ability, as the name had been opposed, but then I read that you had sent an e-mail to Bill. Should I undo what I have done or change everything to Gordon's ability until we get confirmation or a consensus? --posted by Laughingdevilboy

Talk 07:19, 26 April 2009 (EDT)

    • Both Radicell and Irony are opposed to "sand transmutation" with valid reasons. I disagree with them, but it doesn't matter what my personal opinion is. You've done the right thing, moving it to "Gordon's ability", since there are no suggested names that we all agree on. Of course, if Bill comes back and says something, we will generally go with what the writer says. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:43, 26 April 2009 (EDT)

Talk 14:52, 26 April 2009 (EDT)

        • Actually, there is no opposition for the name reverse sand mutation. Only one person opposed and they have now removed their opposition. --Elemental Manipulator [ U | T | C ] - When in doubt, ask BTE 19:00, 26 April 2009 (EDT)
        • Until the consensus has finished, i.e. the discussions have stopped and/or we wait until Bill has replied and see what he says, we should keep it to Gordon's ability as the only reason I changed it was because the current name was opposed, it was not a check of the consensus :) --posted by Laughingdevilboy

If you could ask Joe Tolerico to pass on our question, that would be the best bet. The iStories, which are really part of the Evolutions content, also have a heck of a lot of planning that goes into them, and they're currently at 86,000 words, written on 321 single-spaced pages at 10-point-font. My new pages

Hi Ryan would you be able to check these new pages and tell me what you think of them please Angela's Victims, Flint's Victims thanks if you can. No worries if you can't -- Obelisk52 21:19, 17 April 2009

  • They're good. A few notes:
    1. If there's no gallery, there shouldn't be a gallery heading or category.
    2. The titles of the articles shouldn't have a capitalized "Victims". They should be "Angela's victims" and "Flint's victims" to follow the same format as other victim pages.
    3. On Angela's page, "The Recruit" should be italicized and in parentheses.
    4. On both pages, there shouldn't be periods if there are no sentences. For instance, "Slaps him in the face." is not a sentence. It should be "Slaps him in the face" with no period.
    5. "Manipulativeness" is not a word. I think you want "manipulation" or "manipulative ways".
    6. On Flint's page, you need to have a space between the descriptions and the sources.
    7. If the female teller's name is Holly (which it is--it says on her nametag), then it should be listed as Holly.
  • Make those changes, and I think you'll be in good shape. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:40, 17 April 2009 (EDT)

Getting a picture

How would I go about getting a picture of a scene from an episode? I want to find the picture of Alex breating underwater so it can be used as the lead image for the ability. What do I do? Take a screenshot while watching the episode online? --Peter

  • That's one way. Another is to use a site that already has screenshots (see template:resources, which is also on the links page). However, I just searched through Exposed for that exact screenshot not more than an hour ago, and I didn't find anything that would be worth using that we don't already have. :( -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:26, 18 April 2009 (EDT)
    • I found an 'okay' picture of Alex underwater. It has claire in it but she can be cropped out so it can be used as a proper example of Alex using his ability. Unfortunately, I'm on my ipod and it can't cut and paste so I can't send you the link (Damn you Steve Jobs!!). I'll crop out Claire and upload it tomorrow. Unless I find a better picture. --Peter

You think it would be prudent to run Consensus Check V 2.0 on some of the older ability names where version 1.0 went nowhere, like Alejandro's ability and Mohinder's ability? --SacValleyDweller (talk) 02:47, 20 April 2009 (EDT)

  • Add bliss and horror into the mix too. -- Tristan0709 talk 02:51, 20 April 2009 (EDT)
  • I think it's pretty clear on those pages that there's no consensus...and I kind of look at those talk pages as being "tainted" a bit, since people have already formed some really strong opinions (myself included). I mean, for Alejandro's ability, I've followed the talk page pretty closely, and I've never heard a single name that's been valid. I think V 2.0 (I like that!) is probably better suited for newer names, doncha think? :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 07:59, 20 April 2009 (EDT)

Exodus IDs

I'd like your opinion on a couple IDs that have been made of episodic characters in graphic novel Exodus. Please see the Agent Harper and Homeland Security agent (II) threads at Graphic Novel talk:Exodus when you have a chance. Thanks!--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:41, 21 April 2009 (EDT)

  • I left a comment about Harper. Is that what you were looking for, or is there a different issue that I'm not seeing? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:57, 21 April 2009 (EDT)
    • There's also a thread called "Homeland Security agent (II)". We are crediting that character as appearing. It may be him, but I'm not 100% sure. I hoped you would check out the graphic novel and compare the photos... Assuming I get the chance, tomorrow I'll upload some snapshots from the novel for people to compare.--MiamiVolts (talk) 02:16, 21 April 2009 (EDT)
      • Oh, I missed that second thread. I'll check tomorrow. I want to finish up the new webisode crew and go to bed. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 02:19, 21 April 2009 (EDT)
        • Ok, pleasant dreams. :)--MiamiVolts (talk) 02:21, 21 April 2009 (EDT)
  • Ok, please check out the two galleries in Graphic Novel talk:Exodus when you have a chance. Thanks.--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:17, 22 April 2009 (EDT)
    • Yeah, I was just checking that out when I saw your message...Personally, I think they're the same person, but I'm not positive. I'll go back and leave my comments over there. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:20, 22 April 2009 (EDT)

John O'Hara's photo

That's cool that we finally got a photo of him. Did Joe Tolerico send it or did you make contact with John?--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:25, 21 April 2009 (EDT)

  • Nevermind. I see he has a website now. Even better.--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:29, 21 April 2009 (EDT)
    • You know, there are a lot of people we don't have images of...but for some reason, John O'Hara's has bothered me more than most. I think it's just because he's got such a heavy hand in Heroes and his creativity is imprinted all over the show...and to not know what he even looks like was kinda frustrating. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:20, 22 April 2009 (EDT)

Subpages

I nominated about five of my subpages for deletion a few weeks ago, would you mind doing away with them? Thanks. -- Tristan0709 talk 04:15, 23 April 2009 (EDT)

  • Speaking of which, I recently gone through the various categories of images that need fixing, and nominated a few unused ones for deletion too. --Radicell 04:17, 23 April 2009 (EDT)
    • Thanks for letting me know. I don't check the afd list every day, so little reminders like these are very helpful. User pages are easy...but I'll take a look at the categories a bit later since they require a little more thought. Thanks guys! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 08:18, 23 April 2009 (EDT)
      • Sorry, I didn't make myself clear. I meant I nominated a few images that were unused for deletion. --Radicell 08:33, 23 April 2009 (EDT)

Ability naming

I was wondering, what is the proper protocol was when creating a new canon ability page? I started the Tom's ability page (his ability was originally listed as shattering, which then linked to Trevor's ability) but I wasn't sure if I was allowed to call it something else when I made it. Does the creator of a canon ability page get to name it what they want before the name debate begins or does it always have to be called so-and-so's ability (unless it is painfully obvious)? --Elemental Manipulator [ U | T | C ] - When in doubt, ask BTE 08:36, 23 April 2009 (EDT)

  • When creating a new ability page, the "rule" for the name is probably somewhere in the middle of those two extremes. No, it doesn't have to always be "So and so's ability" to start. Certainly, if the creator of the page can think of a name that is not speculative, I think it's fine to go with that. However, on the other end of the spectrum, just because a person is the first to make a page does not mean that editor has full authority over the name--otherwise, just our East Coast contributors who log on to the computer first would be the ones dictating how abilities get named. But the beauty of the wiki is that there's absolutely no edit that can't be undone--nothing is permanent. Pages can be moved, links can be redirect, redirects can be deleted, etc. So in the case of something like Tom's ability, yeah, I don't think "shattering" was the best choice. It's not, as you say, "painfully obvious". It's not a common ability (like flight), it's not named in the episode (like shape shifting), and we don't really have many details about it (like healing). In a case like that, where it's only shown once and there's bound to be a lot of debate about it, it's best to leave it as "So and so's ability" until consensus is reached. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:32, 23 April 2009 (EDT)

Also, is there a time limit for concensus'? --Elemental Manipulator [ U | T | C ] - When in doubt, ask BTE 09:06, 23 April 2009 (EDT)

  • Nothing official. I like to wait at least three or four days, generally. But if there's still an active discussion going on, it's not ready. Of course, the consensus discussion needs to be advertised with a rename flag so all users can find it... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:32, 23 April 2009 (EDT)

Recurring Micah

Sorry about the characternav. For some reason, I thought it was three appearances to qualify.--Tim Thomason 01:03, 25 April 2009 (EDT)

  • No worries. Check out Help:Characters. It's four appearances for Seasons One and Three, and three appearances for Season Two. You weren't that far off! Plus, it confuses things since Micah (as "Rebel") has had such an active role this season...but Micah himself has only actually appeared three times. (I had to go check myself, too!) One more and he'll be recurring. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:58, 25 April 2009 (EDT)

Noah

Umm....I just reverted your edits to Noah Bennet. Dunno what you did and why. -- Tristan0709 talk 01:35, 25 April 2009 (EDT)

  • Wow, I have no idea either! I think it must have been one of my later edits last night. I meant to just add Noah to Category: Level 5 Escapees, but I must have done something horribly wrong! Thanks for catching it, Tristan... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:55, 25 April 2009 (EDT)
  • Oh, you know what I did? I must have gone back through older versions of the page to check to see if Noah was ever included in that category, and if he was, to see if there was a reason he was removed. Then I must have accidentally edited one of the older versions of the page, rather than the most current version. Silly me. :) I suppose one act of vandalism out of 68,000 edits ain't bad, right? :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:04, 25 April 2009 (EDT)

Your Entry

Hey Ryan, LOVED your entry, very funny. Like the F.R.I.E.N.D.S. reference in there, very smooth. I'm not sure about the ability, I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter, but I'll have to ask LDB/GB if it is OK, I'm pretty sure it will be. (btw, if it's not you can just give us a name for it). Thanks --IronyUTC CH 12:47, 25 April 2009 (EDT)

  • Oh, by the way. Can you look into a spammer for me, his character is called Scaredy McScarey Cat and his ability is Triskaidekaphobia, I demand that this person be banned from the wiki, and if they are an admin be branded a smapper for life. XD --IronyUTC CH 12:49, 25 April 2009 (EDT)

Quite some time ago my son made some rude comments and I apologize for my son --Terryl 17:37, 26 April 2009

My son's username was Joshlars. Sometimes he just is a smart alic about some things.

  • Ah, yes. He vandalized one of our pages, then said some rude and incendiary comments to one of our administrators, so I blocked him from using Heroes Wiki for a month. Thanks for letting me know. When his block time expires, he can feel free to edit here, so long as he doesn't vandalize pages, and he keeps his rude comments to himself. Tracy/Barbara Dispute

Hello! First I would just like to say that HeroesWiki is my favorite site ever! However many people say the women in the teaser from volume five is not Tracy but in fact Barbara! I strongly disagree with this statement as Ali Larter claimed that Tracy WOULD be in the finale AND that her new powers were ice,WATER, and steam on the Jimmy Fallon show! However the article for Barbara's page says that she in fact is the women in Redemption not Tracy!

Heroes Wiki Fan, Pslover

  • Actually, the summary says that it could be Barbara, not that it was. Spoiler statements can in fact be wrong, and they have not been clear in this case (BTE said she wouldn't be coming back), so we document only what is presented in the show and note the rest. In the episode, it's not said who she is. If you want further clarification, I suggest you join in asking CBR's Behind the Eclipse for some confirmation.--MiamiVolts (talk) 20:22, 28 April 2009 (EDT)
  • Glad you like the site, Pslover! I'm kind of partial to it myself, too. :) Regarding Ali Larter: I'm going to take the diplomatic route on this one. Let the record show that I think it's pretty clearly Tracy (a number of outside sources back that up). But until we have confirmation, we really should leave it ambiguous. I'm not sure when BTE is coming back up. Maybe I'll poke around a bit with the writers. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:21, 28 April 2009 (EDT)

Archiving Question

Just a question, since Season Three has ended, when do we do the "transitional edits" between seasons? This is my first season transition since I joined, and by transition edits I mean things like grouping character histories into a Season Three page, updating the various navbars, etc. I'm assuming this will happen right before Season Four starts, but just want to make sure. --Radicell 05:54, 29 April 2009 (EDT)

  • In the past, we've done them at the end of the summer. That's for two reasons: one, many of the summaries are still not finished, so it gives us a summer to work on that (actual content is always more important than archiving). Second, if a character appears in the graphic novels, in the past we've considered that still part of the previous season. So if Claire pops up in a GN this summer, that history will be archived on Claire's Season Three page. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:33, 29 April 2009 (EDT)
    • Alright, just wanted to make sure. Also Ryan, if you can find the time, would you mind sifting through the images at Category:Articles for Deletion and trashing some of them? There's a few I nominated recently that are unused and/or duplicates of better images. --Radicell 05:54, 30 April 2009 (EDT)

Spoiler evidence

For some time now we've gotten spoilers that Tracy was returning in the finale but even with all the evidence there was still a debate as to whether it was Tracy or Barbara. Does this mean that we can't use spoiler info on the wiki even after the episode has aired, just because some people aren't convinced on what actually happened? Do we have to get info from the writers to edit even if we have had the spoilers for a while? (Am I making any sense?). --Elemental Manipulator [ U | T | C ] - When in doubt, ask BTE 06:57, 29 April 2009 (EDT)

  • You're making perfect sense to me. You want to know whether de-spoiled spoilers are valid evidence or not. One must remember that spoilers have a very dodgy history--they are often wrong, misinterpreted, and sometimes they change. However, they can help guide us to a conclusion. They kind of remind me of how a character witness would be used in a court of law. A person can't be proven guilty or innocent based on a character witness, but the person's testimony cetrtainly does help paint a picture. In the case of Ali Larter's appearance in An Invisible Thread, spoilers would not be proof enough to say conclusively which character appeared. However, enough spoilers saying the same thing (that Tracy would return and that Barbara would not be seen this season) give us a good idea of what the story was going for. But the proof either needs to come from within the episode, or from statements made directly about the appearance. Personally, I think the melting "death" and the vengeful redemption are really good indicators that it was Tracy. When I later mentioned the character as Tracy to Bill Hooper, he didn't correct me--in fact he agreed with me. I think that's enough to identify the character as Tracy, not Barbara. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:41, 29 April 2009 (EDT)

Consensus check V2

Hi, I think we need to change a rule. If one person opposes a name it wont be used. This should be changed, as Ted C pointed out "If there's one thing I've observed about attempting to name powers around here, it's that there will be someone who disagrees with every suggestion. Eliminating a name because even one person opposes it will inevitably result in no name. If you want to use an elimination method, you should periodically eliminate the suggestion with the most negative votes until only one suggestion remains." I do agree with the if one person opposes, however I am not sure how we could do the second part, periodically eliminating. My suggestion would be the 2 names with least opposition (if all names are opposed) will be put forward for a vote that will include the possessors name, e.g. if Sand transmutation and Reverse sand transmutation both had opposition but were the least opposed we could have a vote with them two names and Gordon's ability. Then the winner of the vote can be decided. This is just an idea, whatever you say goes lol --posted by Laughingdevilboy Talk 12:02, 29 April 2009 (EDT)

  • Though Ted makes a good point, it of course is hyperbole. We have had plenty of examples where nobody has opposed a particular name. I know how frustrating it can be to have a name "blocked" by just one person...but if they have a legitimate reason for their opposition, we have to honor that as a community. Ultimately, we look for consensus. We don't look for majority, we don't take a vote, we don't look for the most popular name. We find consensus. That's an edict that comes from Admin. Though there are many ways to run a decision-making process, that's the one that was chosen for this wiki. I stand behind it until it's changed. (If you want to suggest changing it, that would need to be a public discussion.) Frustrating, yes. But ultimately, finding consensus ensures that every reasonable voice is heard. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:48, 29 April 2009 (EDT)
    • OK, so if someone doesn't give either a valid or full reason as to why, can that name still be used? or is it if someone simply puts their name? --posted by Laughingdevilboy

Talk 17:37, 29 April 2009 (EDT)

      • The backbone of the wiki is communication. If a person doesn't explain why he's opposed, how can we see whether or not the opposition is valid? In most cases, I think we can only "count" the opposition if it is explained or justified. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:19, 30 April 2009 (EDT)
        • Explained "or" justified? I think you meant explained and justified, Ryan. ;)--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:38, 30 April 2009 (EDT)

A couple of questions, whenever you have a free minute

Hey, sorry I haven't been around to help with the editing/patrolling in awhile (I know it's volunteer, but I still feel bad), but things have been crazy at home. Hopefully I'll be able to be on here more often now (time will tell), but I did have 2 issues I wanted to ask you about real quick, whenever you have a free minute.

First, since we ended up putting all of the shape shifting aliases in Sylar's infobox (which I was never really opposed to), can I add his lost powers as well? Not listing them seems inconsistent with the rest of the site (they're listed in infoboxes like Maya's and Adam's, as well as on the actual ability infoboxes). Since the only real objection to doing that in the first place was to keep the infobox short and concise, can I go ahead and make that change to Sylar's (and Peter's) infoboxes? Also, I dont want to step on any toes, so before doing anything (assuming it was ok to do so in the first place), should I ask Ted C what he thinks, since it was his objection that removed them initially?

Second, do you have any objection to removing precognition as Matt's second ability? I'm not sure why it was added in the first place, as there doesn't seem to be anything of a consensus that it's separate from his telepathy (most of the arguments seem to sway toward it being ability extension, with BTE backing that up), and there seems to be no real evidence it is discrete from his main ability. I'm not sure if a consensus check would work since it might not have been correct to add it in the first place. Thanks.

I hope all is well with you and your family.  :) --Stevehim 20:34, 30 April 2009 (EDT)

  • Hey, Stevehim! Good to see you around! No worries about not being able to edit and patrol. Life comes first. :) Plus, you won't see me too much in the summer because I go camping for eight weeks. You do what you can, and don't worry about the rest. :)

I don't see any reason why we wouldn't list his lost powers. I don't think it's necessary since the information is already on the page, but I suppose fair is fair. Be forewarned: won't remove it, but somebody else may. Yes, I would definitely run it by Ted C, though. It's not something we necessarily need consensus on, but if Ted opposed the idea, you might want to just let him know, more out of courtesy than anything else...

Matt's power: yeah, I never noticed that it was listed as his second power. I always imagined it to be an extension of his telepathy (which has really developed quite a bit from the days of him overhearing random thoughts!)...If anything, we should have a consensus check to add the power, not to remove it. And personally, I would oppose the adding it. Go ahead and get rid of that...until we have confirmation that he actually does have two distinct abilities, and not just one ability that has some properties that look and feel like another ability. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:46, 30 April 2009 (EDT)
