Linderman image

Where did you find the latest Linderman image? Also, is it for s1 or s3? --Cylon 13:57, 30 September 2008 (EDT)

  • Which image? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:43, 30 September 2008 (EDT)
    • Image:Linderman face.jpg --Cylon 13:01, 1 October 2008 (EDT)
      • It's from an issue of Entertainment Weekly. I don't remember what issue, but it was from about a year ago, if I recall, so it's probably from around Season 2. Why do you ask? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:08, 1 October 2008 (EDT)
        • No specific reason, I just like seeing the HQ promo photos. I didn't know if that was one of the cast photos NBC released for Season 3, since Linderman is back. --Cylon 12:20, 2 October 2008 (EDT)

Hey, Ryan!

Hey, Ryan. This is Samantha486e61, or Hana, as you can call me. Just wanted to let you know that I can type and am fleunt in Leet, if you need me to type or translate anything. You can reply to my user page. Thanks, Hana :)

RE: Typing

I could possibly translate a few pages (perhaps Ted Sprague's emails to Hana etc.) I also would like to make a Leet Heroes Wiki page, so that other users could learn or translate other texts they have found. I think a Leet page would be useful on Heroes Wiki. If you don't think so, I totally understand and will forget the idea. Thanks again, Hana :)

  • Is there a demand for a Leet Heroes Wiki? Admin sets up the new language wikis, so you can certainly run the idea by him...but I don't think there's really a need for it. Why don't you try translating a few pages and putting them in your user namespace (something like User:SAMANTHA486e61/Peter Petrelli) and see what happens from there. And I believe Ted's email is already translated (see here), but if you find something else that needs to be translated, please feel free! You seem very enthusiastic about contributing, and I think that's terrific! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:41, 1 October 2008 (EDT)
    • I think the request may have been for just a single article here that documents how to do the translation. If so I'm not sure how well it would fit here, however it could certainly be done on a user subpage. If it turns out nicely then maybe we'll realize a good place for it. (Admin 16:45, 1 October 2008 (EDT))

Moving "Talk" from one page to another.

  • Hey Ryan in "Talk:Portal:International Locations" i'm talking about Maui, i realized i needed to put this in the American section. Is there a way to move the page.

Dark Future vs Explosion Future

  • Hi Ryan, i know we decided to split up the two dark future's, one where Future Hiro doesn't go back and one we saw on tv where Hiro does go back but there is no Dark Future page, should there be one? cause in my opinion there should be one -- Futurepeter 15:21, 2 October 2008 (EDT)
    • I'm not sure I understand. Dark Future is a disambiguation article about the various futures we've seen. The future we used to call "Dark Future" is now called Explosion Future. That's the future that Present Hiro and Present Ando visit in Five Years Gone. Is that what you're looking for? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:14, 2 October 2008 (EDT)
      • Actually i mean the Future where Walls 1 & Walls 2, this seems to be a different future because Hiro didn't go back there, my suggestion is to keep the "Dark Future" and the "Explosion Future" apart from eachother.
        • The future shown in Walls is written about here. I'm not sure what the difference is between "Dark Future" and "Explosion Future". I think the Walls future is meant to be the same future as the one in Five Years Gone, only it takes place slightly before Present Hiro and Present Ando arrive. It explains how F_Niki and F_Peter met, it shows F_Matt's total douchebaggery, and it shows a bleak future where specials are hunted and imprisoned (probably per the Linderman Act). When Five Years Gone came out, it was the first future they showed, and I don't think TPTB were playing with multiple futures right away. Plus, Walls was released right at the same time as 5YG, and usually the graphic novels are in some way linked to the episode they accompany. I think they're the same future. Is that what you're looking for? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 07:10, 3 October 2008 (EDT)
          • Yes, thank you!

Hi, Ryan! I updated!

Hey, Ryan! This is Samantha48e61. I expanded some stubs from the stub catagory, like "Hispanic Woman" and "London, England" to help you out. I also got a brillant realization that Heroes Wiki is so serious about their work, and there's hardly any humor involved at all, so I added a bit of humor to a few photos, like Image:Sandras hero.jpg and Image:Baby Nathan.jpg. Please reply to my page when you get a chance. Thanks, Wireless

Thanks Ryan!

Thanks for the info on my humorous comments! I have a few questions, though. How do you create a user subpage? And what's a user namespace? I'm really sorry to be bothering you with all these questions, I apologize. Oh, and by the way, where did you move my comments? Thanks again, Wireless

Minor Cast

Hey, Ryan. If you have time could you please update the minor cast because I have no idea how to do it... HiroMystery 19:42, 2 October 2008 (EDT)

  • Yeah, I'll work on it after the kids go to bed. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:46, 2 October 2008 (EDT)
    • Okay. Is Linderman a minor or supporting? We have him in both categories... HiroMystery 19:51, 2 October 2008 (EDT)
      • That's not really a decision I should be making, but if you're asking my opinion, I think he's a minor character this season. On the other hand, he's scheduled to be in the next two episodes. I guess it depends on his role--if he appears as much as he did in the first two episodes this season, then I would consider him a recurring character. If he just appears in passing (like Kaito did in The Second Coming), I would consider him a minor character. That's my personal take on it. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:19, 2 October 2008 (EDT)
        • Yeah, I just wanted your opinion. So I'll just remove Linderman from the supporting portal for now.HiroMystery 20:24, 2 October 2008 (EDT)
  • At this point, the guest star portals will automatically update when an article is written for a guest star. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:14, 2 October 2008 (EDT)

Tech template

Thanks for picking up the no so visible half of my Idea :) --SacValleyDweller (talk) 00:26, 3 October 2008 (EDT)

  • No problem. I was actually going to do the same thing tomorrow, but I was going to call it "Electronics". "Technology" works better. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:33, 3 October 2008 (EDT)

Question about the Claire revision

I wasn't sure what you meant by this:

"that's not noting that she can feel her hands burn, that's spec about the cause for her new condition"

Should I have put that in the notes section, in the theories section or on a discussion page instead? In the scene, she pulls her hands off the wall after it becomes hot and looks at them, which to me indicates that she can still feel pain, otherwise she wouldn't have even known that her hands were heated.

As you can probably tell, I'm still getting the hang of things around here, so any help on where stuff like that goes would be appreciated. Thanks.  :)

Stevehim 10:56, 3 October 2008 (EDT)

  • Your edit summary said you were "noting that she appears to feel her hands burn in the container". Adding "though there is some question as to how much of this is a psychosomatic effect of her attack" is not nothing anything about her new condition of not being able to feel. Plus, it's speculating about the reason for her new condition. If you want to add something about the fact that she could feel her hands burning--or that she seemed in pain when she couldn't breathe--it'd be fine on the page in the section about her powers. We really shouldn't speculate that she's having psychosomatic symptoms or PTS or anything like that. That part would be a theory right now...And you're doing a fine job, by the way. We all start somewhere, and we're all on different learning curves. Keep up the good work, keep asking questions, and you'll get the hang of it! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:01, 3 October 2008 (EDT)

Jim Martin

I know this is a lot, but you couldn't give me his contact details could you? I want to set up a email with Tim Kring and I know the OWI did theirs through him. Thanks.--Skywalkerrbf 11:45, 3 October 2008 (EDT)

  • I'd rather not give out his email address. I'm sure you understand, though. After you build up a relationship with somebody, passing their emails out like trading cards isn't the most tactful thing to do! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 12:46, 3 October 2008 (EDT)
    • Yer, yer I know what you mean, I've been building up a relationship with you mate Jason. Would you mind asking him about the possibility of me doing a interview over the phone with Tim though? It would really mean a lot to me, my 3 mins last time was nowhere near enough.--Skywalkerrbf 12:55, 3 October 2008 (EDT)
      • That's kind of the plan I have...for me. :) When I'm ready to ask, I'd rather do the interview myself. Sorry, Rob! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:13, 3 October 2008 (EDT)
        • Hey no thats fine, as long as someone gets one thats cool--Skywalkerrbf 03:21, 4 October 2008 (EDT)

Hey

Remember us? :P Yeah, the dudes who made the comic and the controversy a few weeks ago. We just wanted to let you guys know that we finally completed the second episode. Anthony really outdid himself with the art, and we hope you enjoy it!

^_^

  • Controversy! More like people who just had a difference of opinions. :) I love the second comic! Personally, I think the page is ready to move into the main namespace. I'll go ahead and move it (based on the discussions that you simply needed more content), make the page a bit snazzier for you, and add it to the portals. If anybody takes issue with it, they can talk about it at Talk:Unexpected Heroes. (Viva Mr. Muggles!) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 09:23, 4 October 2008 (EDT)

Gabriel Gray's Family Tree

Hey Ryan, i noticed the gray family tree still exists, since we now know that Gabriel is the son of Angela Petrelli, shouldn't that be adjusted. -- Futurepeter 02:09, 4 October 2008 (EDT)

  • Yeah. I think after The Butterfly Effect, we were waiting to find out a few more details. Angela said she put up Sylar for adoption, so that's probably all the details we need now. I'll take care of it this morning. However, since Angela is not a Gray, I won't update Gray (disambig) other than making sure we note that Gabriel was adopted (just as Nathan's not a Bennet, so he's not on that page). I'll update Petrelli (disambig). -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 09:05, 4 October 2008 (EDT)

image help!

hey, ok so im adding a precognitive dreaming to the theories on abilities portal page but idk how to make the picture match the size of the rest...so now what, can this be changed?...--Anthony Gooch 01:48, 5 October 2008 (EDT)

Suggestion

Hi there! I have a suggestion for the Abilities page.

I think that Knox's power should be separated from Niki/Jessica's. His power is of a different nature - he absorbs fears. Maybe his category should be Fear Absorption (and in the description you could say he uses this to increase his strength).

Also while I'm on the topic, I think Meredith's and Flint's powers should be separated into 3 categories. Meredith seems to have control over a weaker fire, while Flint seems to shoot extremely hot blasts. While they both have pyrokenesis, they seem to be of a different type. Then again I don't know how you would split them. Pyrokenesis and Blue Pyrokenesis? Lol. Just something to think about.

Thanks again for maintaining this awesome site which I visit regularly! -Dan

  • Thanks for the suggestion, Dan. Feel free to contribute to the discussion at Talk:Enhanced strength. Personally, I think we should use the information given to us--that Knox's ability is called "enhanced strength" and Flint's is called "pyrokinesis", according to their assignment tracker profiles. I think the differences should be explained in the page itself, rather than making new pages for abilities that are the same. It's kind of like having a page for Micah's computer when it's assembled and another page for when it's disassembled. They're still the same thing, just in different formats. But that's just where I'm coming from, and I respect the fact that not everybody agrees with me! :) Glad you're enjoying the site! Isn't this season off to a fantastic start? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:05, 5 October 2008 (EDT)
    • I was unaware of the existance of these assignment tracker profiles. But I agree that we should go by what those say since they are given to us by the Heroes creators. Thanks and yes - this season has definately started off with a bang! -Dan
      • Yeah, those profiles are pretty cool, aren't they! I think we're up to 16, now--take a look at some of 'em, they're chock full of information. Plus, check out the assignment tracker map--another very cool gift from the writers, exploding with great stuff! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:42, 17 October 2008 (EDT)

Lower casings

I changed every parenthetical in the Portal:Future_Characters to lower case, but I muffed up Mohinders. I don't know how to get rid of it. Also, there are alot of double redirects... I don't know what to do with those. In any case, I got the lower casings done ^_^;--Riddler 22:29, 5 October 2008 (EDT)

  • No problem with the small mistakes. Thanks for doing that--big help! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:39, 5 October 2008 (EDT)

Villains future

Hi. I just wanted to ask if the villains future is a temporary setup to better keep track of events, and if it will be merged with the exposed future once the storyline plays out (I wasn't around, but I'm assuming this is what happened in Season 1...?). I think it's technically the same future (confirmed by BTE), and since we don't know that much about the changes that are occurring because of Peter's actions, it's not entirely clear if things like Angela's dream and Hiro's visit to Tokyo are part of the same possible future or two different ones. Stevehim 13:31, 6 October 2008 (EDT)

  • The BTE interview never specifically stated it's a different future (they like to use word games to tease the fans). Plus, we have a canon source, Angela and Usutu in episodes, who states that the future changed. Angela even knows that the future changed because Peter came back from the exposed future. So, the villains future that Angela and Hiro have seen is different. How different? We'll see, but it's similar to Season One. Future Hiro came to the present to tell Peter to save the cheerleader, and when he returned, not much changed, but there was a difference. Claire had survived and lived, Sylar did not have cell regeneration, and Peter was the source of the explosion. I think the reason this was split was because a) people jumped the gun, and b) Angela specifically states that Peter messed up the future. I'm going to the explosion future page now to see if it's noted that the future was changed with Future Hiro's trip to the present, but it should be noted. --Bob (talk) 14:00, 6 October 2008 (EDT)
    • Hi. First off, thank you for the response. I actually meant that they are the same future, though different...that the villains future is really the exposed future with whatever changes that were made by Peter's actions (as you said, similar to Season 1). I think Peter may have even already been back to the future this season and seen things changed, as he tells Claire things are different, and I don't think he was just taking Angela's word, though that's somewhat speculative right now. It's also possible that the future Angela saw may be dfferent than the one Hiro saw (ie - the same future but with additional changes), but, as with the rest, I assume it will work itself out with time (ie - we'll adjust things as more information becomes available). Again, thanks for the response.  :) Stevehim 16:39, 6 October 2008 (EDT)
      • I'm not sure what you mean by "the same future, though different" -- it sounds suspiciously like the actual theory of the butterfly effect--even the slightest changes today can have drastic effects later on. The slightest differences in two futures really mean that the futures are very different....But ultimately you're right, we'll have to wait to see what else happens and how things play out. Can't wait! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:54, 6 October 2008 (EDT)
        • By 'same but different' I just meant it was all part of the same timeline, just incorporating the changes. But yes, I ertainly can't wait (and tonight's episode was excellent, both overall and in terms of answering some questions! Stevehim 00:55, 7 October 2008 (EDT)

Futures

Hey. I was going to try to add all the new future characters and organize the futures, but I wasn't sure what format we're going with. I noticed you recently decapitalized a lot of stuff, so I'm guessing that we're going with bth words in lower case letters? The thing with that seems to be that the actual [future page] has them in caps. I tried moving it (ie - Exposed future --> exposed future) but it told me it's the same page and cannot overwrite it. Is the only way to align everything to copy the info from the old pages into new ones with the correct URLs, and then somehow delete the old ones, or is there a better method for this? I have no problem working on those sections, trying to get everything tidied up, but I wanted to check on the best way to proceed before doing so. Thanks. Stevehim 00:51, 7 October 2008 (EDT)

  • Since the futures don't have proper names, their pages shouldn't be capitalized. MediaWiki automatically capitalizes the first letter of every article title, regardless of what you try to do to it. So a page that clearly doesn't need to have a capital letter will get one--goggles and Goggles are the exact same page, for instance. When moving a page, it's always preferred to use the move button at the top of the page (rather than cutting and pasting) so the history is maintained, redirects are automatically created, and the action gets recorded in the move log. But even if you tried to cut and paste something into an article with a title that has lowercase first letter, MediaWiki will automatically capitalize it. Oh well! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 06:31, 7 October 2008 (EDT)

Image Upload

I reuploaded the image of Sylar grabbing Angela. This was my first time dealing with uploading pictures and the like. Just wanted to know if I did alright. I swear I have a worry complex. Dracomaster4 10:27, 7 October 2008 (EDT)

  • Looks good! Typically we make most of our uploads 450 x 350, but that's not crucial. It just makes the gallery look better. Also, it might need to have the levels adjusted, but that's a little more advanced--if you can do it, great. If not, no worries. Finally, don't forget to edit the image's page and remove the {{reupload}} tag. Other than that, great job! And worrying to the point of making sure something is done right is a good thing...but don't get a complex about it. You're doing fine! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:44, 7 October 2008 (EDT)

Family Trees

  • I found a free program that builds family trees. I've used it for other projects and I believe it would work for Heroes. It supports marriage, adoption, and other misc. family relations. I could try and make a test tree and see if I can add links to the corresponding pages. However, as the current formats work great, I can see if you'd rather not change things. Here's a link MyHeritage Family Tree Builder. Dracomaster4 03:15, 9 October 2008 (EDT)
    • I don't think we have anything that's so complex and complicated that we can't build it ourselves, but if there's an extension that makes it easier, it might be worth trying out. However, I don't have the capabilities to add extensions--you'd have to talk to Admin about that... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 07:28, 9 October 2008 (EDT)
      • It's a standalone program not a MediaWiki extension. I don't think it would be too helpful for us since the format it outputs in isn't really anything we can use here. (Admin 09:31, 9 October 2008 (EDT))
        • Oh, yeah, I actually have a very similar program I use for tracking my own family history. It's called PAF (Personal Ancestry File), and it creates GEDCOM files, which is really cool for family trees and the like. But no, it wouldn't work here. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:10, 9 October 2008 (EDT)
          • This program creates Jpg formats of the trees, which can definately be put on here. Dracomaster4 06:52, 10 October 2008 (EDT)

No need to argue on someone else's talk page. And TEN, Ryan is a sysop, which means he patrols edits to ensure quality. If he's online the same time you are, more than likely he's going to make changes if there are a few things wrong. When I started on this site, I had a bunch of my edits cleaned up, it's nothing to fuss about. I hope you understand, it's nothing personal.--Bob (talk) 13:23, 11 October 2008 (EDT)

Super strength vs. Enhanced strength

Knox and Niki do not have the same power. They're similar but different. While Niki has super strength, Knox has enhanced strength because his strength is enhanced by the amount of fear in his surroundings. He gets stronger and stronger as the fear gets more intense and weaker when there is none.

So the article depicting the strength of Niki and Peter and possibly Mohinder are superhuman but Knox has an entirely different type of strength.

  • Agree to disagree. :) I think they are the same power, just accessed differently. If Knox's assignment tracker listed his power as something other than enhanced strength, I might be inclined to feel differently. As it is, I use what information I learn from the show rather than trying to insert my own opinions. Oh well! Either way, discussion points about this should be posted at Talk:Enhanced strength. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:25, 11 October 2008 (EDT)

Editing Minor Characters

Hey Ryan, i wanna do some contributing for the minor character section. The only problem is that i don't know how to add characters to it. Maybe you can help me out. Thanks in advance --Futurepeter 10:03, 12 October 2008 (EDT)

  • Sure! Where exactly do you want to edit? If you want to edit the portals (like Portal:Minor1), you can't because they are automatically updating portals. Once the characters are added, they are entered into the portal. However, feel free to add pages for those characters, like Holly, Lieutenant Chory, or Angela's aide. Is that what you wanted? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:08, 12 October 2008 (EDT)
    • Thanks for the quick response. I was thinking about adding "Bob Bishop" and "Kaito Nakamura" because they had a small role in the season. I'm also looking trough new episodes for characters that aren't added yet. But my question was, how do i add someone like Bob, Holly or another person to the Minor 1 portal. Thanks! --Futurepeter 11:11, 12 October 2008 (EDT)
      • Bob and Kaito are already in the minor characters portal. (You might have to refresh your browser by pushing CTRL+F5, or by editing the article, not making any changes, and then pressing "save page".) To add Holly to the portal, she needs an article written about her. Something great you can do is make sure that anybody who appears in multiple seasons has multiple categories for each season. For instance, if I'm not mistaken, Kaito really should be in Category:Season One Characters, Category:Season Two Characters, and Category:Season Three Characters. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:17, 12 October 2008 (EDT)
        • Ok, i made a start on the Holly page, what should i do next to make her appear on the Portal:Minor1 page? --Futurepeter 11:44, 12 October 2008 (EDT)
          • Refresh. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:59, 12 October 2008 (EDT)
            • Did you just do that? Or is my browser really annyoing today?? --Futurepeter 12:02, 12 October 2008 (EDT)
              • I did it on my computer, and if that made it appear on yours, I suppose that's all that's needed. Cool. No, your browser is probably not being annoying--that particular automated template sometimes takes a little longer to update than others. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 12:08, 12 October 2008 (EDT)
                • All right! Thanks a lot! --Futurepeter 12:17, 12 October 2008 (EDT)

Favor, please!!!! :)

ok, so i saw you were looking for a page dedicated to "the faces of Ali Larter" (ok, im still working on the title)....anyways, im trying to keep the images clean, and i was trying to find all the ladies (Niki, Jessica, Gina, Tracy, and Barbara) nice uniform pictures...did you have any working ones in mind?...i was trying to go for either ALL promotional head shots or ALL screen shots...(i think i wanna go with the screen shots b/c Gina and Barbara don't have any promo shots do they), and finally if im going with that is the any chance you could find (or make) a close up head shot of Babara from Momma Petrelli's dream and any similar headshots of Jessica? no rush, just get back to me when you can, ok thanks!--Anthony Gooch 00:21, 14 October 2008 (EDT)

  • Alrighty, you'll have to refresh my memory of when and where and why I was looking for a page dedicated to the many faces of Ali Larter. I mean, why would you need a reason to see Ali Larter's face a million times, right? But just remind me where I said it... :) Anyway, here's a good picture of the woman in Angela's dream, though I wouldn't be quick to say it was Barbara, but who knows? Image:The woman from Angela's dream.jpg Now, what did you want me to do with Jessica's picture? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:33, 14 October 2008 (EDT)
    • Oh, it was on your "To Do List"...and all you have to say is Ali/Niki/Jessica/Gina/Tracy/Barbara and i'm all over it, but if you don't need it, i guees i'll just make it my own little side-project, thanks though!--Anthony Gooch 00:39, 14 October 2008 (EDT)
      • Oh, oh, oh... No, that's a note to myself to create a category for people who play more than one character. Ali Larter certainly does because the triplets are definitely more than one person. The other actors listed there do to (like Milos Milicevic and Darryl Chan). I'm still on the fence about all the actors who portrayed Candice, like Hayden Panettiere or Tawny Cypress....But thanks for looking out for me and trying to decipher my to do list notes! I guess even when I type, I have chicken scratch... :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:45, 14 October 2008 (EDT)

Michael's ability

Hey Ryan. I was wondering can i have permission to create a page on Michael's ability? Michael was one of the agents in Graphics Novel: Doyle who displayed an ability. Obviously people will edit information if it's incorrect but am i allowed to do so?

Regards, Nicholas. --ACDC1989 06:43, 14 October 2008 (EDT)

  • You don't need permission to edit an article or to begin an article. Feel free! :) But you do need to be aware that people will edit it, and you do seem aware of that. And might I add, when it comes to articles about abilities, people will edit them mercilessly! A word of caution about the name--it should be based as much as possible on what we learned in the graphic novel, and nothing else. So for instance, Doyle says something about "lasers", so the power name should probably have the word "laser" in it. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 06:45, 14 October 2008 (EDT)

Thanks very much, Ryan.--ACDC1989 06:49, 14 October 2008 (EDT)

Canfield's Power

Hey Ryan...I read some discussion on the site about the actual "name" of Canfield's power, but can't remember now where I read it, well I am not sure if guys have this or not yet, but here is a post that according to his Assignment Tracker Profile that his power is Gravitational Manipulation. Interview with N'Tare Mwine

I have got one, did you say you have one too? I have had mine from well before season 3.--Skywalkerrbf 18:10, 15 October 2008 (EDT)

  • How would I have known that? I don't see it announced anywhere. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:12, 15 October 2008 (EDT)
    • I didn't announce as it was a spoiler when I got it. I feel this needs to be treated the same way as my interview with Bea Grant. Lost Soul said he got one first and I gave it to him. I'd of thought you might of mentioned this to me before oragisding it, I make sure I tell you about all my graphic novel ones.--Skywalkerrbf 18:15, 15 October 2008 (EDT)

Mohinder's teeth

You beat me to the punch in adding the trivia about Mohinder's lack of cavities and great alignment :P --Aburu 21:48, 15 October 2008 (EDT)

  • It's true though! As my wife says, Olga Sosnovska is one lucky woman! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:52, 15 October 2008 (EDT)

      • Personally, I like that he is missing a digit in his Social Security number. Perhaps Tracy took it? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:00, 15 October 2008 (EDT)

          • Dunno! I think the only other shot we have of Micah's computer operating (and not being operated on) is this one from Jason Badower...and I helped him with the research for it. He asked me what operating system Micah used, and I told him the same thing, that I don't think it's ever been shown. So I guess Jason got to make that decision... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:07, 15 October 2008 (EDT)
            • I guess that despite emotional trauma and moving across the country, Micah still managed to upgrade his OS. On a side note: Woo, I found my first plothole! --Aburu 22:11, 15 October 2008 (EDT)
              • Plot hole? Where? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:14, 15 October 2008 (EDT)
                • The Operating System, I meant to say related note instead of side note. My bad. --Aburu 22:16, 15 October 2008 (EDT)
                  • Gotcha. But is it really a plot hole? In fact, I think you should add the information to the trivia on the page about Micah's computer. Don't be speculative, just say what we see. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:19, 15 October 2008 (EDT)

Question About GN Details

Hey Ryan - Sorry to bother you with this and I assume this is listed some where on the site, but could not find it. How are details from the GN such as the recent one titled Doyle treated?? Spoilers/Canon or neither?? I know the site has a full recap but I have a little breakdown on my site as well. So I was wondering how you guys view it so I know how to post elsewhere here or on the net in general. I try to keep a uniform standard where I post. Sooo spoiler OR canon. I assume if it has NOT aired on NBC it is a spoiler. The ODI 22:22, 15 October 2008 (EDT)

  • They're considered near-canon. Definitely not spoilers. In fact, we create articles for graphic novel characters, and we put the history right on the character's pages. See help:sources for more information. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:25, 15 October 2008 (EDT)
    • Ahhh "Near-Canon" that is a new one for me, but it applies well! I knew this info was on the site, I should have looked at the help section Duh. Thanks for the 411 The ODI 06:00, 16 October 2008 (EDT)

Volume 4 and Pcast Test

Just wondering if you guys will be creating a Vol. 4 page anytime soon? Also is the title of Volume 4 considered a spoiler?? Reason why I am asking is production on Vol 3 I believe is close to done and we are getting new information about Volume 4 at least spoiler wise. Of course the spoilers will still go on the general spoilers page, but wanted to ask and give a heads up just in case. Also, not sure if you got my last email or not, but let me know when you want to test, maybe tomorrow or Sat?? I know you are busy so no major rush. The ODI 15:27, 16 October 2008 (EDT)

  • Volume Four is listed on the Season Three page. I don't consider the title a spoiler--it's been made very public, and it doesn't give away any plot details. Yeah, spoilers for that volume would still go on Spoiler:Heroes. I haven't checked email in a few days...sorry, I'm really bad at keeping up with it. Friday evening sounds good. I think you said you get home around 6:30 PST, right? Let's plan on 7:00 pm your time, 10:00 pm my time. Let me know what I need to do in preparation. Thanks! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:16, 16 October 2008 (EDT)

Level 5 escapees

  • It was confirmed in an interview that all prisoners escaped from Level 5. I thought this was the only reason we listed Echo as having escaped, so shouldn't it apply to Howard as well?

“What happened to Maury Parkman? Angela's dream (filmed during the second season) features 'The Nightmare Man' amongst other villains, but in episode #3, Maury is nowhere to be found! Will he be returning?”

We could tell you, but than we’d have to trap you in a dream. Maury was in level five. Now everyone is out. Stay tuned, true believer. We haven’t dreamed the last of him.

Stevehim 16:14, 17 October 2008 (EDT)

  • Yep, I guess so! It's probably best to include Howard's name in the notes along with Maury and Echo, then, eh? Just so we record our reasoning... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:29, 17 October 2008 (EDT)
    • Agreed. I'll put that in now.  :) Stevehim 16:32, 17 October 2008 (EDT)
      • The reason I hadn't originally done the same with Howard as I did with Echo was because we don't know if he was still in Level Five. We saw him captured maybe eight years ago and I wasn't sure if he was there anymore. Therequiembellishere 16:47, 17 October 2008 (EDT)
        • If we're not sure he was there at the time of the escape, then he shouldn't be on the page at all. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:53, 17 October 2008 (EDT)
        • I meant I didn't put him as escaped on the main Level Five page. He was added on the Level Five escapees page by Stevehim. Therequiembellishere 16:56, 17 October 2008 (EDT)
          • Right, I know what you meant. We know he was on Level 5, so he should definitely be included on that page. But if we're not sure he was still on Level 5 when Elle shorted out the electricity and when all the prisoners escaped, well then he shouldn't be included on Level 5 escapees at all. Perhaps a note, but that's it. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:00, 17 October 2008 (EDT)
          • We can't really assume he was moved though, can we? His last known location was Level 5, so unless we get some other information about him, I think we should classify him as still being there (or now escaped). However, if anyone feels particularly strongly about removing him from the escapees page, I wouldn't really oppose it, since we'll likely be finding out exactly who escpaed in the next month or two.  :) Stevehim 17:39, 17 October 2008 (EDT)
            • I don't really care whether he's on the page or not. I care that it's consistent and that we record our thinking, meaning we reference our sources. If we aren't sure he was in Level 5 still, he shouldn't be on the page at all. If we are sure he was there, then he should be on the page, but he should also be listed in the Notes, linked to the BTE article. It looks like that's the case now (though the note could use some more explaining and less jumping to conclusions). This should probably be discussed on talk:Level 5 escapees, though. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:46, 17 October 2008 (EDT)

Nor I, I was just saying why I hadn't classified him as escaped. Therequiembellishere 17:50, 17 October 2008 (EDT)

Julien's Cell

Sabine holds Julien up while walking through Level Five and the clones' cell, at least, is across from Noah's. Therequiembellishere 13:41, 18 October 2008 (EDT)

  • Ah, yes, you're correct. So Julien would be a visitor to L5, but he wasn't an occupant. Also, his cell shouldn't be on the page. Thanks for catching my oversight! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:45, 18 October 2008 (EDT)
    • So we're saying he was on a different floor, but his rogue clones were on L5, right? Therequiembellishere 13:52, 18 October 2008 (EDT)
      • Pretty much, but with a slightly different twist--we're saying we don't know what floor his cell was on, but his clones were definitely on L5. And as you deftly pointed out, he did walk across (or was dragged through) L5, so he would be a visitor there. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:00, 18 October 2008 (EDT)
        • Sabine walked passed Bennet's cell on Level 5 to get to Julien's cell with the heavy door.--Bob (talk) 14:01, 18 October 2008 (EDT)
          • Right, but did she go up a level? And does Level 5 refer to the floor number, or the security level? Since we don't know either of these answers, we're not going to assume that Julien's cell was actually on Level 5. Whatever the case, it's definitely a different designation than all the other cells on Level 5. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:03, 18 October 2008 (EDT)

Hi...regarding Petrelli family picture

  • I posted this on Bob's page (since he was online and making the corrections regarding us not knowing if Arthur is Sylar's father), and he suggested I send it on to you, since it's normally within your purview. On the Petrelli's family tree pic it has Sylar as Arthur's son, but I don't know how to (or even if I can) edit it. Thanks. Stevehim 17:41, 18 October 2008 (EDT)
    • I have mixed feelings about this. A promo on NBC noted that Arthur was the father of all three (see Talk:Arthur Petrelli#NBC Promo). Is this a spoiler or no? I guess it all depends on your view. I don't think we should be "announcing" it, but I also am not keen on changing Template:Petrelli Tree because it requires manually changing the image, reuploading it, and then doing some changes to the code in the template...all of which will probably be reverted on Monday. Bottom line, I'm choosing to take the NBC promo as enough evidence to not change the template. I'm also turning a blind eye to changes made to infoboxes etc. :) I don't care what happens there, if you're asking my opinion. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:25, 18 October 2008 (EDT)
      • That's fine by me too, as I think there's a pretty good chance we'll be changing it all back soon enough anyway. I just wanted to try and keep things consistent throughout, but it's not remotely worth going to a lot of trouble just to have the pic match the other stuff, only to revert it back in 2 days time.  :) I actually did want to get your opinion on the exposed future page too (I know this isn't the place to discuss it, so I'll check that talk page for a possible response instead). It's all been combined under one 'About' heading...did you have specific ideas on where to go from there (if anywhere), in terms of designating things as specific rifts or different futures or anything? Stevehim 23:02, 18 October 2008 (EDT)
        • Oy, the future page! Yeah, I'll take a look at it later. I'm at my parents' house tonight, and I'm just casually editing. I'd like some time to sit down and really go over the page, and tonight's not the night for that, sorry. Remind me tomorrow. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:10, 18 October 2008 (EDT)
          • No worries and will do!  :) Stevehim 23:18, 18 October 2008 (EDT)

Yeah, I was trying to delete the other versions, but i dont know how... can you do it for me pls...tnx

  • Yeah, only an administrator can delete pages and files from the wiki. Two things you can do are upload a new version over the old version (there's a link for that a little way down below the picture), or mark it with {{afd}}. In any case, I took care of deleting those three pictures for you. Let me know if you need anything else. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 09:20, 19 October 2008 (EDT)

Exposed future page

  • Crap. I was supposed to remind you about checking what to do next on the exposed future page and, despite being on the site for the better part of the day, completely forgot about it. There's no rush on this end, but I do want to fulfill my obligation of bringing it to your attention. ;) I was also hoping to get your opinion (or fact) on the Peter absorption thing, as I'd like to try to standardize it to avoid these constant reverts back and forth, and to bring consistent wording/formatting top the ability page blurbs stating where/when he absorbed them. Thanks, and sorry about my memory misstep. Stevehim 01:59, 20 October 2008 (EDT)

  • Try Control-Shift Refresh or clear your cache. As you can see, you're getting the old background and formatting. (Admin 10:49, 20 October 2008 (EDT))

I wouldn't mind be a patroller, but I'm not an expert on Heroes. I know there have been a number of things I posted that were incorrect. Yet, I have a good grasp on the English language and generally know Help:Layout. --  PinkKeith (talk) 14:01, 20 October 2008 (EDT)

  • Keith, I'm not an expert on Heroes either. I didn't just choose your name out of a hat--I took a lot of time to review your contributions and I think you have a pretty good working knowledge of the style we expect on our site, a good understanding of grammar, and in my opinion I think you'll do just fine. A word of caution (and this really goes for all patrollers): if there's something you're not sure of (whether it's a Heroes specific question, a grammar question, or a layout/Heroes Wiki question), either ask it, or don't patrol the edit. If you make a mistake and patrol the edit, just find somebody you think might be more qualified to go back and recheck what you accidentally patrolled. You'll do fine--we all start somewhere, and I trust where you're starting. Good luck and welcome aboard! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:11, 20 October 2008 (EDT)
  • I know that you're not ment to say this, but I thought I would of been made a Patroller... I would prefure to speak up now and not become one at all then stay quiet--Skywalkerrbf 14:12, 20 October 2008 (EDT)
    • Ryan will probably answer this, too, however one very important skill for a patroller is recognizing incorrect spelling. I know you have some problems with spelling (which have improved a lot now that you're using a spell checker, nicely done!) so being a patroller isn't, in my opinion, the best thing to do. There are no perks to being a patroller, it only allows us to assign out the patrolling feature to non-admins since there are a ton of edits and we can't keep up with them. (Admin 14:49, 20 October 2008 (EDT))
      • That's exactly right, Admin. A patroller should have some good knowledge in three areas: the world of Heroes, the way we do things at Heroes Wiki, and the English language. (It also helps to have good people skills since there are times that a patroller needs to talk to new users and gently instruct them without biting off their heads. A patroller should be diplomatic.) I don't mean this to be rude by any means, Skywalkerrbf, I mean this as a way of instructing and helping. Your spelling and grammar has gotten a lot better, but it is still not up to par. For instance, even in your message above, I see five mistakes. It should read "I know that you're not meant to say this, but I thought I would have been made a Patroller... I would prefer to speak up now and not become one at all than stay quiet." It's not that you won't ever become a patroller--I'm a teacher and I see people grow and change every day in ways that are unbelievable. It would be naive and myopic of me to believe that just because somebody is not the best speller or doesn't have the best grammar that they can never get better. It would be vindictive of me to forever forbid somebody from being a patroller simply because they asked why they're not one. On the contrary--I appreciate your concern and your question, I just think you've got a little ways to go before you're ready. My suggestion is to read some of the help pages, and ask questions. The help pages have great advice and lay things out very nicely--especially Help:Style. Then, ask people that you think use good grammar why some things are the way they are, why certain changes are made, and what's wrong with things we revert. I hope that helps a bit. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:26, 20 October 2008 (EDT)
        • Thanks for the info. when I was posting the above the spelling thing seemed to not to be working but it seems to be better now. I just like to know what I'm doing wrong so I am improve. Thanks again.--Skywalkerrbf 16:53, 20 October 2008 (EDT)

Re: Images

== Images == Thanks for uploading so many images! A few notes so that we're all able to find the images easier...You'll want to categorize all your images. You can do this by manually adding the categories, or by using shortcut variables in the fair use template. You can either put [[Category:Images from Dying of the Light]] or you can put {{image-screenshot|Dying of the Light=t}} in the fair use template. Even shorter, just do {{image-screenshot|306=t}}. The other think I'll mention is that you should basically be looking at three categories: one for the source (the episode), one for the type of image (like Powers Images, Location Images, or Items Images, to name a few), and one for any characters who might appear in the image (like Images of Claire Bennet or Images of Peter Petrelli). All those categories can be added manually or by using shortcut variables, as described above. As well, some images will have multiple categories (like if it shows Peter and Claire together, or if it is a power image that clearly shows the location, too). A few images will not have anything but the episode category.

I know it's a lot to digest. Just do your best to get the categories on the pages. Also, anything that has a watermark should be marked with {{reupload|watermark=t}}. Anything that needs to be standard size should also be marked for reuploading....Let me know if you need any help or any more explanations. Thanks for all your work, FPeter! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:51, 22 October 2008 (EDT)

  • Yeah thanx for the message, i'm just getting the hang of it, making it my own. From now on i'll add those things you named above to my images. Thanx! -- Futurepeter 12:57, 22 October 2008 (EDT)

Hey...again!

had this idea...you likey lol? anyways is there a way to pull the "examples" off the empathic mimicry box?...that or add "examples" to all the other boxes...and whats a good toolbar that should go at the bottom of the page?--Anthony Gooch 18:37, 22 October 2008 (EDT)

In your edit on Elle Bishop, Claude and Elle weren't in London when it happened. Elle was seen traveling on a bus to some other place. TheEvilNoob 21:39, 22 October 2008 (EDT)

  • She was traveling across town. Elle and Claude were atop the London Eye. They ran across Westminster Bridge Road and end up in Wikipedia:Trafalgar Square, all within the heart of London. • Jason Badower and I have gotten to know each other over the past year or two. We hung out in New York awhile back, and sometimes Jason asks me for help with references on his graphic novels. He also helped me out with a project earlier this year. I suppose he is generous enough to devote a little space in his work for a shout-out. It's not added to look famous, I hardly think anything like that. It's written in the trivia so people will know why there are initials on the towels and whatnot. We're pretty good about recording any kind of Easter Eggs like that. Check out Graphic Novel:Root and Branch, Part 1#Trivia for some other great examples. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:50, 22 October 2008 (EDT)
          • Ok I believe you, can I ask why you still stalk most of my edits though TheEvilNoob 17:00, 23 October 2008 (EDT)
            • Part of my job as an administrator and patroller is to check the edits of others. When you first came on this site, some of your edits were rude and some of your information was wrong. I check to make sure that you are not still doing those things. But I check most users on this site--I have seen the contributions of pretty much anybody who has made more than 30 edits on this site. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:06, 23 October 2008 (EDT)

Peter's IA

Hi. I actually just noticed something else about a question that you'd answered for me, and, while I was going to pose it on the page where it was addressed, it seems to fit in with a bunch of other pages as well, including the current discussion of how much to use from the assignment trackers. On Gabriel Gray's AT 2.0, it lists 'persons exhibiting similar abilities' as Peter, and this information was present prior to I Am Become Death being aired. As such, would that be sufficient evidence to say Peter absorbed it in Homecoming? I know it might not be, since it says 'exhibited,' which would indicate he's used it, and is thus source-trumped by the information in the actual episode (bringing into question it's overall validity). I was just wondering if that sort of thing is enough evidence to make a declarative statement (both in this case, and in general). Thanks, and sorry to bother you with this again. --Stevehim 19:39, 23 October 2008 (EDT)

  • No bother at all. It says "similar abilities". Empathic mimicry and intuitive aptitude are similar abilities in that they both help the user gain more abilities. That's how I've always read it. I don't think it was meant as an announcement that Peter absorbed Sylar's ability. Did you read the latest Behind the Eclipse? Adam Armus and Kay Foster talk about this a little bit:

"Why was Peter required to be physically taught Sylar's power rather than just absorb it as he has done all other powers previously?"

Very good question Ben. In actuality, Peter probably had already absorbed Sylar's power -- but he had no idea how to access the ability or how to use that -- much like when he went through the training with Claude. However, when we put that in the script some people, people who have a big say in the show, said that was confusing and the audience wouldn't understand. I think they underestimate just how brilliant our audience is. But -- they write the checks, so...."

  • I think that's about the most definitive answer we're going to get on when Peter absorbed Sylar's ability. He probably already did, but he didn't know how to use it. But it was written a little differently to be more explicit that Peter was getting the power then...which really only confused the issue even more, eh? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:13, 23 October 2008 (EDT)
    • Gotcha, and thanks again. I did initially interpret it that way too, now that I think about it, but my mind often takes on sieve-like properties, and I was so caught up in trying to standardize the pages that I didn't even think about the Empathic mimicry being referenced. D'oh! --Stevehim 00:20, 25 October 2008 (EDT)

Hello?

Since when are you allowed to remove a completely valid point on a discussion page and replace it with your own? (this is a joke you know) TheEvilNoob 21:08, 24 October 2008 (EDT)

  • When did I do that? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:09, 24 October 2008 (EDT)

      • Oops, sorry. That happens, sometimes, TEN. It happened because we were editing at the same time. I probably clicked edit before you, then saved my edit after you already saved yours. hey how did the interview went? could you post it soon? thanks--Manwithnoname 17:13, 25 October 2008 (EDT)

  • The interview went very well! I usually transcribe interviews when my wife works at night...but she's sick tonight so she'll be staying home. I might see if I can sneak out the headphones while she watches television. In either case, it should be up within a few days. I'll post it at Interview:Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine. Am I civil?

I dunno, something tells me the heads of the wiki want me off the site, but it might just be me being paranoid/modest.--Citizen 19:23, 25 October 2008 (EDT)

  • What makes you say that? My comments on other talk pages had nothing to do with you. I was referring to the banter between NiveKJ13 and TheEvilNoob. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:25, 25 October 2008 (EDT)

      • I haven't gone through your contributions, but there aren't any instances of extreme rudeness from you that come to mind. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:28, 25 October 2008 (EDT)
        • Citizen, I would recommend not getting involved with TheEvilNoob and Nive, though, or you're likely to get caught in the crossfire. Other than that I can't think of any acts of incivility. (Admin 19:30, 25 October 2008 (EDT))
          • Yeah, I've decided not to go there anymore.--Citizen 19:33, 25 October 2008 (EDT)
            • Actually, I do see one instance of incivility in replying to TheEvilNoob's question about Ando's temporary death. Even when people are rude it's best to just approach everything civilly. Eventually the one acting uncivilly will be dealt with and you want to make sure you don't get blamed, too. • He is given a second chance before and he didn't listen; He's done this before, what makes you think he's not gonna do it again, in his comeback after his short-time banning.

Abigail's force field ability name

User talk pages

Hi RGS, I just had a question about the policy here on removing content from user talk pages... it isn't allowed, right? Unless the user has been blocked? I seem to remember reading that somewhere. Sincerely, Thrashmeister [ U | T | C ] 19:06, 28 October 2008 (EDT)

  • I don't think we have a policy one way or another. It would be wrong of you or me to remove content from any member's talk page, of course. As for a member removing content from his own talk page? Dunno... I'm not really against it--it's their talk page, after all. But I see the issue with removing a record of disciplinary action, warnings, etc. On the other hand, if I were somebody who "turned a leaf" after being a jerk on the site, I wouldn't want all that negative stuff on my talk page still. Plus, all that information is stored in the history if it needs to be accessed. In short, I feel kind of neutral about it. Now, Admin might have a different story.... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:14, 28 October 2008 (EDT)
    • Okay... I was just wondering because I've just recently noticed that the user Snow Leapord continuously removes all content from his talk page... even repeated warnings from admins. I also understand he was blocked recently, but he sure doesn't seem like he's turning over a new leaf. He even called Admin a pansy in one of his revert summaries. Sincerely, Thrashmeister [ U | T | C ] 19:21, 28 October 2008 (EDT)
      • Right, I see what you're referring to now. He's on Admin's radar, and that's really what's important at this point. I don't want to speak for Admin, but I don't think he's intimidated or even offended by name-calling, and I don't think he would block somebody just for that reason. Heck, I've been called a lot worse, and it really doesn't affect me. But if the issue is a record of warnings and such, I would personally leave the situation alone, let SL do what he would like, and let Admin take care of it. That way you won't be targeted in any way, and you won't egg him on inadvertently. If Admin wants to restore his warnings, he can. But thank you for bringing it to my attention and asking my about the policies. As in previous situations, it's good to know that you're looking out for the well-being of the site and its users. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:26, 28 October 2008 (EDT)
        • Cool! I just wanted clarification on those policies. And you're welcome again! :) Sincerely, Thrashmeister [ U | T | C ] 19:30, 28 October 2008 (EDT)
  • It's sort of an unofficial policy that we don't delete content from user talk pages, we only archive it after it's old. Deleting the talk page to try to hide warnings is deceptive and not usually tolerated. Usually I'd revert the blanking and require the talk page be left, however with Snow I'm being more selective in which behavior I try to correct at this time. :) I'm more concerned with the behavior that negatively affects the main site than I am about his user page. Ryan's right: I don't care what names people call me. It doesn't really affect my decisions, although doing such a thing doesn't put you in someone's good graces. (Admin 19:48, 28 October 2008 (EDT))

Ability Immunity

I don't know how to go about creating a page, but I thought it might be good to create a page showing and explaining the process of immunity from one's own ability, or lack of. And helpful and hurtful side effects of abilities. Such as how Meredith is immune to fire and heated air. Elle isn't hurt by her electricity, unless it backfires. Michael was not immune to his lasers, even Doyle said "are you one of those people who are immune to their own ability?". I came up with the idea while browsing pages like ability theft and heredity. Dracomaster4 01:15, 29 October 2008 (EDT)

  • Somebody's Way ahead of you there! :) --SacValleyDweller (talk) 02:01, 29 October 2008 (EDT)
  • Actually, Michael is hurt by his lasers--they killed him...but you're right, that's a cool idea for a page. Joe Pokaski and Aron Coleite called it the "rule of Ted" (see this interview). We have an article called ability immunity, as SacValleyDweller pointed out. Feel free to read it and add to it, if necessary. I think it's pretty complete, but if there's something missing, go for it!...Your other question was about how to create a page. Simply click on a red link. If a red link doesn't exist for the article you want to create, you can create a red link. The easiest way to do this is to type into the search box the phrase or title you want to call the article. Press "go". Then you should get the search screen (assuming the article doesn't already exist), and there should be a red link at the very top. Click it, and let the creative juices start flowing! :) Let me know if you need any more help with anything... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 07:00, 29 October 2008 (EDT)

hi, thnaks for posting it, i was just curious about the interview because i made a question to him wich i felt it was important (where was he from, i was curious and it was different). bye thanks one more time

  • Yeah, that was a great question! I didn't know he was from New Hampshire, and I probably would have overlooked gathering that information from him had you not included it in your list of questions. Thanks! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:43, 29 October 2008 (EDT)

Template doubt

I was looking through some of the templates and I came across the character templates for the previous seasons, and I found something there that was a head scratcher. When a character dies (permanently I mean), we put the name in the template in italics. Are the italics supposed to show the character status during that specific season or according to the most recent? For example, Niki was alive during season one, but she died in the end of season two, do we list her as alive in the season one template and as dead in the season two template, or do we just show her as deceased in both? Same thing for any other character that appears in more than one character template. Intuitive Empath 09:44, 29 October 2008 (EDT)

  • They're season-specific. Niki should be listed as alive in the season one templates. I don't think we've ever discussed what to do when somebody dies right at the end of the season but in a cliffhanger...sort of like they died between seasons. I would say that they should be considered dead for the season they died in. In other words, Niki died in the final moments of the second season, so her name should be italicized and her picture faded on all the season two places. That way, in case the person doesn't return, we've recorded that they've died in the portals and in the navbars. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:46, 29 October 2008 (EDT)

On a smilar note, what should we do if a character's fate is unknown in the mean time between Eps, volumes and seasons? Bold the name?--SacValleyDweller (talk) 18:51, 29 October 2008 (EDT)

  • If a character's fate is unknown, we normally don't list them in italics or bold. The only exception is when they are presumed dead, such as with the case of Stephen Canfield.--MiamiVolts (talk) 19:08, 29 October 2008 (EDT)
    • Well, I know that that's current policy. Would there be anything wrong with noting characters where their fate is unknown? --SacValleyDweller (talk) 19:34, 29 October 2008 (EDT)
      • That would basically be saying whether they are alive or dead is in limbo, which would probably never be more than few cases at any one time. Also, it could invite speculation (something we don't want). Those are my thoughts, and I'll let Ryan add his two cents now. :)--MiamiVolts (talk) 19:47, 29 October 2008 (EDT)
        • Distinguishing characters whose fates are unknown breaks perspective. Their fates are only not known to the audience because of story-telling devices. I don't see any reason to draw attention to people whose fates are not known. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:11, 29 October 2008 (EDT)
