Logo
- Is this logo the image in its original format, or did you create it as a TIFF or PNG before converting it to JPEG? (Admin 16:23, 5 July 2007 (EDT))
- I originally saved it as a jpg. I can convert it to png or some other format if you need....Speaking of the logo, I know there was a bit of talk about tweaking it a bit. You saw that I uploaded a few different versions, and I'm not opposed to changing it if needed. I wasn't quite sure how to do the border as you suggested. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:51, 5 July 2007 (EDT)
- Could you save it as a PNG? I want to use the original one for now. The border won't even really be noticible at 160x160. If someone wants to clean up the border later on I can always update it. (Admin 19:29, 5 July 2007 (EDT))

- Just thinking, I can resize it to 160x160 if you need, of course. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:36, 5 July 2007 (EDT)
- That's ok, I'll take care of it. I'll need to modify it a little bit anyway to give it the right amount of spacing at the top. (Admin 20:13, 5 July 2007 (EDT))

24
I am indeed Conspiracy Unit from the 24 wiki. 24 is no longer my favourite show; that honour is Heroes'. Were you a user over there? --Conspiracy Unit 21:27, 6 July 2007 (EDT)
- A little bit. I enjoy 24, but find it somewhat uneven. Still a fun ride. I use 24 Wiki mostly for the actor pages or if I miss an episode. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:31, 6 July 2007 (EDT)
hi-def
- The high definition pictures are very pretty. Just be careful not to replace too many with high definition versions since in many cases they're a whole lot larger and the extra detail doesn't substantially enhance the quality of the article it's included in. We should definitely use them in instances where they help reveal a detail that's not visible at a lower resolution, but for most images it will just eat up bandwidth and increase the page load time. (Admin 21:02, 9 July 2007 (EDT))
- Thanks. I'm resizing most of them to 450x350. I'm leaving the art ones as full size as possible. I've actually noticed that some of them are smaller file sizes. For instance, 127→126 KB, 95→93 KB, and 93→87 KB...Are there any in particular you feel are needlessly large? I'd be happy to fix any superfluous changes. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:10, 9 July 2007 (EDT)
- Nah, they look ok at the moment. I just want to make sure we don't start a trend of replacing all our images with high-def ones where they might look a little nicer, but otherwise don't significantly add to the quality of the article they're used in. The ones that are around the same size as before are probably high-def images taken from low-def sources, so they've been a waste the whole time and at least now we're getting something out of that extra size. :) (Admin 21:20, 9 July 2007 (EDT))
- Actually, I just uploaded the last of the ones I have. No worries ... until Season Two. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:47, 9 July 2007 (EDT)

Confused
hey there, I saw that there's been a bit of an overhaul of the Candice article - splitting it and such. Is this going to be a site-wide thing, experiment, or...? Thanks for your help. -- Lost Soul 07:06, 19 July 2007 (EDT)
- The general consensus is to take main characters (and any "long" articles) and split their Season One histories off, kind of the way we did for Candice, FBI, and the Company. So, yes, site-wide, but not for every article. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 08:17, 19 July 2007 (EDT)
- Oh, OK. I would help, but I don't think I'd be able to do the summary. I'll see how I feel. Thanks! -- Lost Soul 10:08, 19 July 2007 (EDT)
- You're more than welcome to help out, of course. If you make any mistakes, we can always fix them up. But if you feel more comfortable, you can edit summaries that others write. We're pretty laid back. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:15, 19 July 2007 (EDT)

Something Else
Peter's Exposed Powers
Hello mate,
Trying to add to Peter's exposed powers, but its formatted bit differently, and I'm an infant to editing wikis. Maybe something you can add?
Just a theory that Peter may have been exposed to the Haitian's powers on the rooftop in 'unexpected'. This may not be the case however if the Haitian knew of and blocked Peter's ability to mimic powers at that point in time, whilst leaving his flight power untouched.
I dunno, you think its something to be added to that section?
Stu
- Hey, Stu. I believe the Haitian's power (which we're calling mental manipulation) is already on Peter's page. Check out Peter#Powers Exposed, and it's listed 5th. In the future, if you want to make changes to the powers which have been exposed to Peter, they're on a template: template:peterexposed, which sounds dirty, but isn't. :) Let me know if you need any more help. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:56, 21 July 2007 (EDT)
Interview
- I noticed for the last round of interviews you posted on 9thwonders.com. Did you get a chance to for this round? It might help generate some more good questions. (Admin 10:16, 23 July 2007 (EDT))
- I actually posted on 9thwonders after the interview was completed last time ... Good idea, though--I'll go over there right now and let 'em all know. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:27, 23 July 2007 (EDT)
Dehydration
I believe we can use the picture of the dead handcuffed guy as an example picture of Dehydration. His face is showing the results of Dehydration. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 07/24/2007 08:22 (EST)
- Could be, but before we speculate, let's wait to see the power actually be used. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 08:29, 24 July 2007 (EDT)
Nice work
Saw some visitors coming in from here. Nice work. :) (Admin 12:22, 24 July 2007 (EDT))
- Cool! Wasn't expecting that nice little blurb, just the info about Hector Bustamante, and maybe a link to our Season Two spoilers. I'm increasingly impressed with CBR. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:43, 24 July 2007 (EDT)
- Very nice work indeed... according to the statistics, it's the first time in a few weeks traffic was up more on Wednesday.--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:35, 26 July 2007 (EDT)
- Oh good, I'm glad...It's nice to get some new blood, isn't it? Plus, CBR has served us very well over the past year, I'm glad to give them a little back. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:03, 26 July 2007 (EDT)
- Wow...the recent changes don't have much action today, either, so all that traffic seems to be a bunch of page views. Season Two spoilers is at 20,898 hits as of five minutes ago. Pretty impressive! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:06, 26 July 2007 (EDT)
- According to the stats, there were 389,000+ hits, so looks like they saw more than just the spoiler page... that's good news, I hope. :)--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:25, 26 July 2007 (EDT)
- The stats on Wednesday probably are inflated. Someone at Fark tried to directly link to an image here (which gets blocked) so it probably registered a lot of hits that were in fact denied. Tuesday's stats are realistic; many of them came from CBR. Not quite as many visitors from CBR on Wednesday. (Admin 01:46, 26 July 2007 (EDT))
- Any way of telling how many hits that image got on Tuesday and Wednesday so we can get a rough idea of the count without it?--MiamiVolts (talk) 02:11, 26 July 2007 (EDT)
- It skews the "visits" count more than the hits count, but as for the hits count subtract 8-10k and that should be make it closer to reality. So still a pretty active day. (Admin 02:24, 26 July 2007 (EDT))
- Yeah, and if it's only 8-10k for that image then it is still the first time in a few weeks that the hits were up more on Wednesday.--MiamiVolts (talk) 10:49, 26 July 2007 (EDT)

Lizard
- Hey, just curious as to where you found the confirmation for Lizards? Thanks, -- Lost Soul 13:05, 28 July 2007 (EDT)
- NBC Universal Media Village--it lists the airdate as September 24 which is surely a mistake...though NBC has been known to get certain facts incorrect from time to time. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:09, 28 July 2007 (EDT)
IR pics
No problem...I hate the way images are so hard to find and keep up with. I just saw what appeared from the IR page, where it kinda stopped without the finale IR pics, and the lead-up pics to the finale, and thought..."hey...those should be there". Wasn't aware of the 8-12 limit on powers page. This wiki is getting really big, and hard to keep up with alot of what's going on. Can't wait until next season gets rolling....did you see the new video clip? I'm sure their are more characters than what I could list, but the scenes change so fast, and the quality so poor that is is tough to be more certain. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 08/1/2007 17:22 (EST)
- It is hard to keep up with images sometimes, especially if you're not aware of the examples pages. Use template:examples to guide yourself through those pages. Another good way to search for pictures is using template:imagenav to browse by character or episode.
I'm really psyched for the new season--I've seen about four versions of that clip, each one slightly better quality than the last. I'm hoping NBC publicizes that clip, just as they did with the ComicCon panel. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:29, 1 August 2007 (EDT)
Pages I'd like to see, "Paul. E Sylar"
OK, spent some time researching and going through picture archives and transcripts, and gathered all I could find on this ?alias?. I just made a page for Paul E. Sylar, with all the relevant info I could think of. See what you think about it, and alter and adjust it as you see fit. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 08/2/2007 12:15 (EST)
- I don't think it's accurate to link "Paul E. Sylar" with the other Sylar events that have taken place. Since it was never aired it sounds like they abandoned it so it's not related to the Sylar events we've seen. There's a Trivia entry on the Sylar page noting it and that's as much as we can say about it. (Admin 12:21, 2 August 2007 (EDT))
- Actually, I didnt realize it until just now but we did have an article for Paul E. Sylar at one point in the past, but it was nominated for deletion back then, too. See the talk page for the explanation. (Admin 12:29, 2 August 2007 (EDT))
- Right. Had it ever actually aired, there might be some justification to having an article, or at least a more prominent reference to the guy. But it's never aired, and any article would be purely speculative....and out of place. I believe there's a mention of it at Sylar#Trivia (which I still find a bit odd to have it on the Sylar page, since we have no idea if Paul (who doesn't exist in the world of Heroes) has anything to do with Gabriel Gray (who took his moniker from a watch). I mean, unless Paul E. Sylar (again, who doesn't exist in any canon source) made the watch or also took his name from the watch, then the two have nothing to do with each other--and if they do, it's only peripherally. I appreciate the effort to take care of my to do list, but that one is a relic from a long time ago, when it was really more of a note to myself to add some trivia somewhere. I'll remove it so it's not so confusing. Thanks, though. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:56, 2 August 2007 (EDT)

"Peter's smorgasbord of powers used to escape Sylar's rampage"
It's been bugging me for a while how in the "Examples of empathic mimicry" page, in Peter's smorgasbord of powers used to escape Sylar's rampage, the picture of the telekinesis is actually Peter throwing Isaac from Unexpected, not Peter throwing Sylar in .07%? I just checked, and there's a picture that the actual throw of Sylar in the Category:Images from .07% page. Could that be fixed, please? I don't know the coding to do it myself. --Spellingbee 23:11, 2 August 2007 (EDT)
- No problem. I believe it's fixed now. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:34, 3 August 2007 (EDT)

- Is that good or bad? I notice they did include a link to the interview here at the top (though it's not too clear) and it says that the interview came from here, though I would have preferred if they had left the other links within the interview to articles here intact. (Admin 01:22, 7 August 2007 (EDT))
- Earlier this afternoon I asked them to make the link to our site clearer (the comment hasn't been approved yet, so it's not visible). I agree, I have mixed feelings--it's cool they put so much there, but it'd be nice to have our site linked a bit more. Oh well. There's always HeroesARG and Heroes 360 Clues. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:28, 7 August 2007 (EDT)
- Yeah, it would be more courteous to make it clear the interview is from here or even to just link to the interview here. That's why we always link to outside interviews rather than copying them (not to mention that it'd probably be a copyright violation to do so). Hopefully they'll make the change. :) (Admin 01:33, 7 August 2007 (EDT))

- Ryan, are you even a Sarmy member? If not we kindly ask you to leave our page alone. We've seen you've edited the about section (removed its founders), and that's what bothers us the most. It's okay for us to edit/improve the words but don't change it too drastic. And yes we have two myspaces (a group and a page). These links are related to the subject and equally important to us. The Sarmy --Starrynight (talk) 16:19, 7 August 2007 (EDT)
- Starrynight, please keep in mind that that Sarmy article is not your page and like any other page here is subject to existing policies and standards and will be edited by anyone, not just members of your group. Please read the disclaimer on every submission here specifically "If you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly and redistributed at will, then don't submit it here." (Admin 10:29, 7 August 2007 (EDT))
- I am not a Sarmy member, but that does not exclude me from editing a page. If it is on this website, it is open to edits by all people, not just people who belong to the group--otherwise that would be a very elitist position for us to take on who edits and who does not. I removed the founders because the page should focus on reporting the group's purpose, and does not need a detailed history of every person involved in its inception. I changed some of the headings so they were more standard and fit with the look of the rest of the pages on the wiki. I trimmed the external links because there were eight of them, which is more than almost any other article. If the second MySpace page is crucial, then by all means add it back in--I just believe it to be a bit excessive.
- Thank you for your respons and for editing the layout. We don't claim the page as our own. Our purpose? Informing (future) members by providing a 'history' as accurate as possible. Otherwise we wouldn't mention three founders. Who says we have only three slogans? We're glad you like our modified heroes wiki logo. We'll leave the page as it is. Kind regards. - I'm curious, did you have a previous dialogue with his assistant in order to get some information for the article originally, or did the assistant just email you out of the blue? (Admin 00:43, 11 August 2007 (EDT))
- I emailed his assistant back in July after the article was written: "here, check this out, let me know if there's anything you want to add/change" -- that kind of thing. She just got back to me out of the blue tonight with a couple of changes. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:46, 11 August 2007 (EDT)

Badower blurbs
Thanks for finishing up those Badower art pages, Bob. I got behind on them during the last week of the season, and then they just loomed and I never got them finished. Thanks for filling in all the missing comments, they look great. Incidentally, did you see Jason's pics of me he posted during his Visit to America journal? His friend Simbo was soaked, and is wearing a Heroes Wiki tshirt. We had a great lunch in the City. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:02, 12 August 2007 (EDT)
- Woo! Nice action shot of the Heroes Wiki t-shirt. Glad it came in handy. :) I have a ton of them from my aborted trip to Comic-Con so I'll be sending a few out soon to people who've already requested them. (Admin 17:06, 12 August 2007 (EDT))
- No prob. Yeah, I saw the picture, and I take it Simbo is the guy who made "the face" as Jason calls it. Very cool. Hope it was a good trip.--Bob 17:33, 12 August 2007 (EDT)
- I grew up 15 minutes from the George Washington Bridge, so I stayed with my parents--it's a trip we make about once a month. Yes, it was tons of fun, and the rain was torrential. No kidding, Jason was soaked up to the top of his thighs. Poor Simbo was only wearing a tank top, so we gave him the Heroes Wiki shirt to wear. The three of them and my wife and I had a great time--we're all such big geeks, and our sides were seriously splitting from laughing so much. Incidentally, Jas gave me a poster-size print of the last page of The Death of Hana Gitelman, Part 2, and 4 smaller prints of original drawings he did of Peter, Sylar, Noah, and Claire. They rock. I would've scanned them, but he said he's going to post images of them on his blog, so I'm just waiting for him. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:29, 12 August 2007 (EDT)
Question interview
Hi Ryan,
I was afraid to ask you this because I don't want you to think I am spamming you or anything. But I read the interview you had with Jason La Padura the other day .. you had some great questions there, about castings and stuff like that, not really the boring standard questions other reporters ask. But Jason seemed very nice. But I was searching the web to see if there are any open casting calls for the upcoming Heroes show Heroes: Origins but I didn't find any information. But then I remembered Jason was involved with castings thinking he would know more.
Having said that my question to you was. Did you and Jason stayed in contact after the interview? Because I was wondering if he mentioned something about upcoming casting calls for Origins and possible locations.. something like that anyway. I've been thinking about auditioning for the show. But I didn't really know where to look. And then I went to check the latest fan-added powers here on Heroeswiki and somehow winded up at the interview-page. I figured maybe you know more.
Let me know, whatever you want to do if you don't feel like answering me ;) it's okay
Yoeri.. DarthYotho 13:25, 13 August 2007 (EDT)
- I'm glad you enjoyed the interview. Jason's a great guy and was very gracious to answer some questions for me. We've kept in touch very peripherally since the interview. He is still casting for Heroes, and will be casting for Origins at a later date. I don't feel comfortable giving out his email address, but you can contact his office at the mailing address that's listed on the web: La Padura/Hart Casting, 4705 Laurel Canyon Blvd., Ste. 301, Valley Village, CA 91607. Since Keri Owens is the main lead for Heroes casting, I would put your correspondence to her attention. Good luck, and let us know how it goes! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:42, 13 August 2007 (EDT)
- Hi again, Thank you for responding so quickly, and for anwsering my question. Some people discredit a message like I sended to you. I really appreciate it ! I totaly understand that you simply can't give e-mails to a stranger. I've been in situations like that when people ask me how I do special effects on Youtube, you can't just lay stuff like that around. I appreciate you giving me the addres, but the thing I've been strugling with for castings is that I'm from another country (The Netherlands). And first I always thought it was weird for a outsider to even talk about auditioning for an international show. But I am just so passionate about doing it and trying out, you know. And thank you for trying to put my correspondence to Keri Owens attention, if I read that part right, it means a lot. If there is anything you know about the whole process on how they cast, even the littlest things on how they work could help me. You can contact me (if you have the time) at my e-mail, it's yoerilumios@hotmail.com -- DarthYotho 14:06, 13 August 2007 (EDT)
- Quick clarification. When I said "I would put your correspondence to her attention", I meant "if I were you". In other words, I'm not contacting La Padura/Hart Casting for you. You'll have to send them your resume and headshot yourself. I just want to make sure I'm not miscommunicating with you. Good luck in your attempts to get on the show! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:13, 13 August 2007 (EDT)
- I knew I mis read that part, no biggies ;) I was just about to edit it, but I saw you already commented ;). But do you know if La Padura/Hart Casting also reply to international auditioners and allow videocastings. You know things like that.
- I would imagine they would respond to international auditioners, though I can't be positive. It doesn't hurt to try, though, right? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:22, 13 August 2007 (EDT)
- Okay, but where'd you get the address ? Do they have a website with e-mail. Because sending a letter takes a lot of time doesn't it. They must have a e-mail for business. or is that the e-mail you said you wouldn't give ? -- DarthYotho 14:32, 13 August 2007 (EDT)
- Hi Yoeri,
- I would imagine they would respond to international auditioners, though I can't be positive. It doesn't hurt to try, though, right? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:22, 13 August 2007 (EDT)
Jason's info is here (if you subscribe), but I don't think it lists his e-mail and he doesn't have a website as far as I know. If you are serious about getting into the USA television/film market, you might want to consider registering with IMDb Pro, Jugita and/or contacting a talent agent that can register you with the different casting agencies in Hollywood. For the Netherlands, a simple search turned up JV Entertainment in LA (which works with European actors), and Thea Meulenberg Casting in Amsterdam. From what I grasped from the interview, most of what Jason La Padura's casting agency does is search through their electronic database of registered actors for parts that are going to be needed on the show. An unsolicited letter may or may not work, but I thought I would point you to the more traditional methods as well. :) Good luck!--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:51, 13 August 2007 (EDT)
- Right, I'm not an actor or a casting agent, so a lot of the process is foreign to me. The company does not have a website, and I don't know of a public email address they use, I just know Jason's personal address which I won't give out. Miami is right--registering as an actor seems like the best way to go, but there's no harm in writing a letter, even if it takes a little longer. I have found, by the way, that the administrative assistants at La Padura/Hart are fantastic at getting back to you and responding in a timely manner. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:35, 13 August 2007 (EDT)
- Thank you so much, both of you guys. At least I'm having some more perspective on that subject. I visited both sites Miami mentioned and I had a look but it kinda looked like nobody would ever go look there you know, it just gives me this vibe. But then again I could always try right. But IMDB costs money and I'm under age so. But I will see how things work out you know. The thing is .. in that industry you sorta need to know a certain person with contacts and find a way in and then work your but off from there on out. I'll keep you posted if anything comes up, and if you know more .. my e-mail is posted above somewhere. And Ryan I knew your weren'tn a agent, your a teacher right ?? god I love kids, so good job on your part becoming a teacher. -- DarthYotho 19:19, 13 August 2007 (EDT)

Heh Ryan! Sorry for the whitespaces; didn't saw them :( Thanks for the edits :) -- (talk) 07:27, 16 August 2007 (EDT)

- Yeah quite good :) But doesn't this code

produce the whitespace you had to remove (because of the empty line before the footer) ? -- (talk) 07:33, 16 August 2007 (EDT)
- Yeah, I guess it does. I wasn't expecting someone to do all the histories at once--I was expecting the archiving and summarizing to be done one at a time, and to work out all the kinks as we went along. Thanks for bringing that to my attention. :) ... Really, the whitespace wasn't that big of a deal, it's just one of those things that I figure if we have the time to make uniform across the site, why not? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 07:38, 16 August 2007 (EDT)

- I got a few episodes in and realized that it's nearly impossible to tell when she's Jessica and when she's Niki--and the writers confirm that they purposely melded her into a single being during the middle episodes. I just took her out altogether. See here for a discussion about the issue. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:44, 16 August 2007 (EDT)

Spoiler namespace
Shouldn't we avoid this (May) kind of redirect to Spoiler:May ? I think it is why you just moved the page but youy didn't removed the redirection ? Did I missunderstood something or weren't you trying to ensure that people wouldn't find May's page without searching for a spoiler ? (End of today's flood
- If somebody types in "May" into the search bar, they're obviously looking for the character--they're not going to type in "Spoiler:May"--so the redirect definitely should stay. I moved everything over to the Spoiler namespace so that general searches will not return results on spoiler pages, unless specifically asked to. For instance, searching for "Southern California" will only return results on main pages now. However the same search (with "Spoilers" checked) returns different results. It's just a way to help those avoiding spoilers. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:05, 17 August 2007 (EDT)

Episodes Online
Another thing. As of August 3rd (I think it was), NBC took all the episodes offline (Or, as they put it, the episodes "Vanished like Claude." The episode pages, though, still link to where the episodes would be, were they online. The link at the moment is a redirect to this page. Should the link be taken out of the pages? Thanks --Spellingbee 22:29, 21 August 2007 (EDT)
- Yeah, you're right. I was kind of turning a blind eye to those links because I wanted to see what they'd do after August 28 (whether they'd be back online or not). I actually think it might be easier to incorporate the links (when they're back up) in the infobox. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:39, 21 August 2007 (EDT)

- If you haven't checked it out yet, there's documentation for the Winter extension here. It provides a number of programming constructs that will be useful here in a month or so when I install it. Question for James Kyson Lee
Hey Ryan, you might know me as GOPEANUTZ back at 9thwonders, anyways here's a few questions i would like to ask James Kyson Lee:
- How would you describe your character?
- If Ando would have a power, what power would you think fits with his character?
- Will Ando be doing anything like stunts in the next season?
- Will you still be Hiro's sidekick thoughout his NEW journey?
i dont know which question is best, but i hope they are good questions :)
- Thanks. They are great questions. Since it's a phone interview, I tend to make it more conversational than Q-A-Q-A format. I generally try to hit all the points people want covered (within reason), but I often mix questions together or reword them. You've asked some great questions, and I'll be sure to try to bring them up with James as best as I can tomorrow. Thanks! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:36, 23 August 2007 (EDT)

- I've never heard of her. Where did you get that information? I would get a screengrab, but I unfortunately I'm just about to go away on vacation for a week. Sorry! Are you not able to get one?? -- Lost Soul talk contribs 14:28, 24 August 2007 (EDT)
- She's mentioned pretty in depth on the BBC Two website. I got this image, but it's not that great. To find out about her, I believe you'd have to go to the "Games" section of the BBC Two's Heroes page. Unfortunately, I'm not located in the UK, so I can access very little on the site. I found out about her at 9th Wonders. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:31, 24 August 2007 (EDT)
- Right, I'm with you now. It's all very interesting. I'll grab some images for you, and then get them on my image-hosting software (Photobucket) for you to take a look at. I don't have long though. -- Lost Soul talk contribs 15:24, 24 August 2007 (EDT)

BBC Two
I'm on the site, and there's quite a bit of information.
- In a file, Peter is apparently 31, Isaac is 28, Hiro is 24, Matt is 35, Niki is 33 (her name is spelt wrong as "Nicki"), D.L. is 31, and Nathan has no age. The Symbol is on the laptop.
- The Origin of Species book is mentioned in Mohinder's journal (which Mohinder believes to have come from Eden, as stated during the series). You can find the Sylar tape.
- Bridget has a copy of Activating Evolution, which she told Chandra about.
- The Sylar tape has Nathan's "vote Petrelli" talk on it, followed by Chandra and Sylar's message.
- There are three other games you can play - Claire's, Isaac's, and Peter's, which can be accessed via the map.
- On his bookshelf are three books - Human Potential by T.L. Stein, talking about the brain and how to unlock potential for abilities. Origin of Species by Charles Darwin (three seperate chapters). Finally, Activating Evolution, which has the foreword (talking about how he was tempted to call it Activating Imagination), and also has the date of the foreword - 1993 in Chennai University.
- On a chair there is a newspaper which talks about Isaac opening a gallery in the Deveaux Gallery, with a picture of the eclipse up above. Also, which is a nice reference, there is an advertisement for Gray and Sons (spelt Grey due to English spelling). There is also Issue #5 of 9th Wonders!, which shows a masked Nathan flying.
- Finally, by placing an item into the laptop, you can get a screensaver.
- Is any of this information useful? Guaranteed more stuff will come out over the Heroes broadcasting in the UK. --DocM 15:59, 24 August 2007 (EDT)
- Yeah, it's terrific. (It's too bad non-UK residents can't access it.) As for canonicity, this would be considered on par with Heroes 360--or probably one rung below, in case there were ever a dispute--so I don't put much value in things like the ages. But thank you for your level of detail. I'm not sure if I want to put it into the article about Bridget or if I want to write a whole article about BBC (probably the former at first, and the latter as we get a better grasp of the information), but you've given me more details than I've been able to ascertain thus far. Thank you very much. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:47, 24 August 2007 (EDT)

DC Comics
Hey ! I think you know me now ! I always have the useless question but I insist to ask it ! So here is my interrogation of the day : why are you creating a redirect to DC Comics with the keyword "batman" for exemple ? Do you think that someone is about to come on HeroesWiki and hit "batman" in the research field ? I don't get it :) Ok this isn't a big deal to have thoose redirects, but are they going to be used at least one time ? -- (talk) 17:22, 26 August 2007 (EDT)
- Yeah, actually, I've searched for "Batman" and other comics on this site often. Not only do I always forget which company produced which comics, but it's much easier to refer to the article directly. I'm going through Hiro's blog with a fine-toothed comb trying to pull out all the references. If I were a reader of the blog and came to Heroes Wiki as a new user, I might certainly search for "Spider-Man" or "Superman" to find out if we have an article on those references. We don't have an article dedicated to them specifically (though I'm thinking maybe we should, in some cases), but it certainly gets the searcher to the page that chronicles all the references about that comic. Does that answer your question? ... and your questions aren't useless at all. I enjoy your questions because I'm a details man as well. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:29, 26 August 2007 (EDT)
- Yeah you did it as well ( I think that's how you say what I want to say but I can't explain you what I want to say because if I knew how I wouldn't have to write down all this ) ! Yeah. For me, this wiki is an exemple of organization. So; I just try to have everything standard and categorized. That's how I enjoy things :) Classified ! That's why I always point out each single things I can't understand; and I enjoy that you and others are always there to answer me :) --

Kane
Hello, I haven't seen any page about him within the Fan's Theory and I have one about him but I'm very bad with editing on wikipedia ...
The origin of the name "Kane" is "Caïn", son of Adam & Eve who killed his brother Abel (first murderer of History).
Maybe you already know the license "Vampire The Masquerade", it's about how Vampires live in our society. The main fact is that Vampires don't call themselves "Vampires" but "Kindred", which is the third episod's name.
According to every news I read, Kane is a real seducer (and he seems older than what he looks like) : this is the clan "Toreador" in Vampire The Masquerade. The Toreadors have the special ability to increase their speed (this power is called Celerity).
There's something strange but when I click on "Kane", I found Takezo Kensei's page. If Takezo Kensei is Kane (and a reference to Vampire The Masquerade), it means that he's some kind of vampire (not a real, 'cause it would be very weird; I think he absorbs people's strength and that's why he's still alive though very old) and that would explain how he managed to destroy an army by himself.
And sorry for every language mistake I made, I'm french ...
Have a nice day
- To the best of my knowledge, David Anders has been reported to be playing both Kane and Kensei, though most reports of him playing Kane have been deleted. Since we know nothing about that character, rather than deleting the page, I just made it redirect to Spoiler:Season Two....If you would like to add a theory about Kane, you can either do it at Spoiler:Season Two#Fan Theories, or it's probably best to do it at Spoiler:Season Two#Fan Theories. Hope that helps. If you need something else, don't hesitate to ask....And your English is just fine. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:36, 29 August 2007 (EDT)
Handling DVD Deleted Scenes
Ryan, if there is a section somewhere that this is being discussed, sorry about starting it here. I would like to make a suggestion on how to handle this. Since the Episode pages themselves are already established, (but we also don't want to overbloat them), I think the cleanest approach to handling deleted scenes would be like this.
Create a page that is linked to off of the episodic page, similar to the 'images from Genesis' section that each page has; but it would be something like: 'deleted scenes from Genesis'. The new spawned page would be setup in two sections, one for listing video-links, and the other, of the screen-cap pictures from the deleted scenes, similar to how the regular 'images from'....pages work. Doing it in this manner, would allow all episodic pages presently, and in future season box-sets, to be layed out in a similar manner; and also keep from over-bloating the original episodic page with alot of extra deleted stuff.
What do you think? (Other regulars welcome to chime in) --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 08/29/2007 11:22 (EST)
- Personally, I don't think deleted scenes should go on a separate page. The only reason images are kept somewhere else is because they technically belong to a category, and because there are so many that it'd be silly to host them on the regular episode pages. I think deleted scenes should, in most cases, be kept in the notes. If something from a deleted scene is to be included somewhere else (like an Examples section on a powers page or in a Gallery), it should be clearly noted that it's coming from a deleted scene. ... But that's just my opinion. This discussion is being held at Heroes Wiki talk:Community Portal#Deleted Scenes. I'll copy your message there now. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 12:21, 29 August 2007 (EDT)
Heroeswiki Podcast
- If I can figure out how, would it be possible that I can run a heroeswiki podcast on itunes. It'd be great for the site. Maybe I can do it with another member here on the phone or I could find one of my friends or teachers (my italian teacher was upsessed). I'm not for sure even I'd do it but anyone here, like you and Admin could do it. I think it would be good advertising for the site. 10th and 9th wonders do it. Why can't we, we're just as big and awesome of a site as they are! Jason Garrick 23:50, 29 August 2007 (EDT) Sorry, forgot to pen name it/
- I'm going to jump in and give my 2 cents even though this is Ryan's page. :) When it comes to the wiki I'm a fan of focusing on one thing and doing it well. That's why I don't setup forums or chatrooms or even a podcast. Our core competency is managing the wiki and I like to stay focused on that. Besides with all the other forums and podcasts out there already it would be difficult to set ourselves apart in a way that would be interesting to others. Plus I doubt it would be worth the effort to even try ourselves. What I recommend instead is leveraging the skill and experience of the existing sites. For the podcast, for instance, I'd recommend working with one or two established Heroes podcasts and instead just getting guest spots on their shows when there's something interesting to discuss. If I'm correct, Ryan, you already have something in the works with 3 Heroes Podcast, right? (Admin 23:43, 29 August 2007 (EDT))
- That's right. I was going to do a show with them at the end of the week about the DVD, but my copy is lost in transit. (Don't get me started on that--my blood finally dropped from 212°.) I think I'm scheduled to record something with 3 Heroes after Lizards. It will be part plug for Heroes Wiki, part filling in for Paul who can't make it, and part geek talk about Lizards. I agree, I think a podcast would be fun (that's why I contacted 3 Heroes), but I'd rather use the resources already out there. Kind of like 9th Wonders--it'd be cool to have a message board here, but a fantastic one already exists. Not only do members of the cast/crew belong and post there, but it's a very well-established site, the power of which I'm only more recently learning how to harness. I know of 10 different podcasts about Heroes, and I'd hate to try to compete with any of them, or even try to establish a following. But I'm glad you're thinking of great ideas, Jason. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:22, 30 August 2007 (EDT)

Santiago Cabrera
Hey there! I noticed you just removed the Venezualian origin of Santiago in his page. But we should also remove this information from the infobox no ? It isn't logic otherwise... :) -- (talk) 09:38, 30 August 2007 (EDT)
- No, because it's a fact he was born in Venezuela. I only removed the adjective from the lead so that we wouldn't have a back-and-forth about describing his nationality. I have heard him correctly identified as both Venezuelan and Chilean. If a person lives in a place long enough, they are often described as being from that place. My grandfather was born in France and moved to America as a kid. He never became an American citizen. He has been described as French (which is true), but mostly he's been described as American, which is also true. Sure, we could say "Santiago Cabrera is the Venezuelan and Chilean actor..." but that just sounds silly. I think it's much easier to just leave off the descriptor (correct though it may be) to avoid any confusion, offense, or possible mistakes. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 09:44, 30 August 2007 (EDT)
